Didn't really feel that there was a jump in terms of stress from Sec2 to Sec3. Of course, the subjects were harder and higher in level but I think it's kinda similar to when we were in Sec2/3.
Hi parents. Is Sec 2 to Sec 3 a huge jump in terms of difficulty, workload and stress levels? Any sharing would be appreciated. DD will be taking 8 subjects and emotionally ok so far. But Iām worried about her mental health in upper Sec. Thank you.
Unless there's some specific reason why you're concerned about her mental health, I'd say just deal with the schoolwork similarly as in Sec2 - pay attention in class, do homework regularly, consult the teachers if need help or miss lessons due to competitions etc. -

There is increase in workload given that instead of 6 core subjects, the girls have to take 8 or 9 core subjects. In addition, sec 3 is also the year the girls bear the heaviest responsibilities for CCA or for those in Student Council. So overall, I would say sec 3 is the busiest year.

In terms of difficulty, I do not think there is like a huge jump. I would say just progressive. Some initial getting used to for new subject like IH, but overall nothing whereby the difficulty level is insurmountable.
As long as she is consistent with her work, and clarify any questions with teachers regularly, I think the stress is very manageable. -
Hi all,
Just wondering did anyone try Jenny or Mr Chan for their school bus service to Nanyang Girls High in morning ? Much appreciate to have some user feedback...
It seems they are not the designated school bus operator by NYGH.
Is it safe ?? š¤ -
Hi parents,
May I ask what is the best way to take public transport from Lakeside area to NYGH in the morning? Thank you in advance.
Kind regards -
Will this work ? MRT to Buona Vista, transfer to circle line, Botanic Garden station and transfer to Blue line, alight at Sixth Ave Station. Take any bus, 2 bus stops away.

Thanks for reply. Yes, this looks like the standard route. Just wondering if from experience, is it faster to just alight at Botanic Garden station and take bus (any of the 5 buses) to save on transferring to Blue line. Or are there other permutations? Or taking bus 154 or 157 is relatively smooth or slow-moving in morning traffic? Anyway, I guess just got to try out in the first few months. Thank you!

Can try bus 174 from Boon Lay Avenue direct to NYGH. Bus 174 travel part of the PIE and is much faster than 157. Don't try to take bus 154 because it has to go through Taman Jurong and Clementi which is not on the same direct to the school.

Yeah bus 174 looks like a good option with minimum transfer and the student can get some sleep šš½

because
now is December, school holiday time. No students going to school. Thus, entire Bukit Timah Road not much traffic now, because is school holiday.
When school Term re-open in January 2023, different story (scenario) !
When u step out of Botanic Gardens mrt Station to catch a bus, that road is so heavy traffic jam,
Because
many parents cars are turning left, into Nanyang primary school. This created a bottle neck, at the traffic light junction.
Test it out, when school Term re-open soon ! Because of the very bad jam, u will need to allocate much more time, than just 35 minutes !
