Hi. Don't worry too much (MSHS or any other school). My guess is that the intake sizes were not adjusted and this year's smaller cohort meant that there were fewer students (in absolute number) at ALX, ALX+1, etc, etc (generally speaking).

The S1 posting under AL is also a bit tricky; if one saw the COP as AL12 last year then there may have been few brave souls willing to risk a choice with AL13. Hence, there is a bit of a vacuum and the computer keeps going down the list until all of the spots are filled.

FWIW, there are a few schools in this range that dropped a point or two. Means nothing...

OIC...ok for me is looking at it really literally Cos had really hoped to qualify for another school (elder brother there) but missed by 2 points so we didn't even put it as a choice. Now seeing MSHS COP from 12 to 14 makes me wonder if we should have tried our \"luck\".

Maris Stella High takes in only EX pupils. NA and NT pupils cannot go to MSH secondary school using affiliation. Vacancies are available to non-affiliated pupils, which resulted in AL14 instead of AL12. I know of friend whose son gave up affiliation to go Victoria School and another whose son is NT had no chance of going back to MSH and went to St Gabriel Sec. Maris Stella High AL score may not maintain at AL14 and may decrease in a year’s time. I noticed the AL score for other secondary schools increase by 1, 2 or 3 points too. Some pupils have a higher AL score for 2022 PSLE exam than their prelims.. Just focus on the new journey ahead and do your best in the secondary school, no matter which one you end up in.
