Nan Chiau Primary : -
Year 2021-
Number of Vacancy : 64
Number of Applicants : 204
Oversubscribe Rate : 319%
Balloting for SC < 1km
Year 2022-
Number of Vacancy : 81
Number of Applicants : 274
Oversubscribe Rate : 338%
Balloting for SC < 1km
Therefore there is no chance for SC living 1km and 2km under Phase 2C.
Chij Our Lady of the Nativity : -
Year 2021-
Number of Vacancy : 100
Number of Applicants : 104
Oversubscribe Rate : 104%
Balloting for SC > 2km (SCs living outside 2km)
Year 2022-
Number of Vacancy : 110
Number of Applicants : 118
Oversubscribe Rate : 107%
Balloting for SC > 2km (SCs living outside 2km)
Therefore one has a better chance on Chij Our Lady of the Nativity under Phase 2C. -

Building on the reply above, CHIJ OLN chances > Nan Chiau Primary chance, but the issue is that we don't know what the ballot figures were from the SCs > 2 km for CHIJ OLN. Best case is all 118 applicants > 2 km = 110/118 = 93% chance. Worst case is 109 were < 2 km = 1/9 = 11% chance. Maybe someone else can give you a better estimate of what the odds are probably like (the extremes aren't likely in practice)?Liew Nga Wing\" post_id=\"2093585\" time=\"1672202198\" user_id=\"195250:[quote=\"Liew Nga Wing\" post_id=2093585 time=1672202198 user_id=195250]According to last 2 years data under Phase 2C for these 2 schools :

Maybe consider what other schools are within 1 km of your house and see what those ballot odds are (unless just prefer a girls' school and if need to ballot might as well ballot for this one). From the distances quoted, it seems like there are a couple of different locations you could be at. -
Hi all thank you for the valuable opinions given - I am at fernvale I think less than 1km around me all needs to be ballot. Kinda of like girls school environment and intend to let them take higher Chinese as well.

In Fernvale. SK Green definitely needs balloting for SC < 1km. You are probably safe if you are < 1km from Fern Green and definitely safe regardless of distance if you pick Fernvale.

For HCL, NCPS is a non-starter as you are > 1km away. Hence you can only hope on her results and that she is offered HCL in P5 in whatever primary school.
For girl’s school, CHIJ OLN is one option but I think the odds are not particularly great for SC > 2km (which means Fernvale would be your backup for Phase 2CS). The other possibility for a girls’ school is CHIJ OLGC. While it isn’t far from Fernvale, and is likely to present significantly much better odds than CHIJ OLN, getting to the school could be rather difficult if you are not driving or prepared to use the school bus as there isn’t a direct public transport option. -

Also, for Higher Chinese I believe there are more \"normal\" schools that are offering at P3 or P4 now (may still be different than NCPS or other SAP schools). Previously, there were schools that had one or two classes using the Higher Chinese materials in these years even though the class was still Chinese (the exam papers were still the same across all classes in the school; I am not sure if this is still the case). You can try to find out what each of the schools are doing here if that matters, although I probably wouldn't put too much weight on it. If the child is doing well in CL, she can add HCL in P5 and get accustomed to the two different exam formats/standards then.

Hi floppy, asking for a friend. If living <1km of NCPS, going to try ballot, which school is the usual backup 2CS school (hopefully without ballot)?
-
Believe Anchor Green (right next door) and may need to ballot. But wait for The Flop…

Haha. Interesting, was discussing the same with a friend who’s applying next year.

The back up choices are:
1. Anchor Green
2. Palm View
3. North Vista
4. Sengkang
It all depends on which school / area you are closer to. Those in Anchorvale will probably pick the first, while others may prefer one of the other 3 options. Given that you are surely guaranteed one of the above schools (be it Phase 2CS or MOE assigned), I think the “risk” for balloting at NCPS is very low. -
Hello,
My kid is at K2 level at MK@Gongshang and we live within 1km. SG citizen.
Based on latest stats, how are the chances of getting into GSPS via 2A?
