Yes
Yes we saw a girl transferred to SCGS (most prob she got IP) from SNGS today :boogie:
If that girl has managed to transfer into SCGS (IP) successfully, it means that her AL score is either better than 8 points or equal to 8 points, with or without Higher Mother tongue.
Even if SCGS is not within her initial 6 choices of Secondary schools submitted, she can still appeal, as long as her AL score has met SCGS (IP) official COP.
This morning,
while your daughter is waiting to be interviewed,
how many other P6 students wearing different school uniform, do u see also sitting inside the GO, awaiting to be interviewed ?
Or are u the only one, inside the GO ?
Because
sitting inside the GO at this last week of December, at this time of the year, just before school about to open next week (new Year) in a few days' time, two possibility :-
1) either waiting to be interviewed via appeal
or
2) waiting to obtain Principal's signature, to Transfer out of St Nick, into some other school (eg. SCGS IP)
=============================
Since u stay in Ang Mo Kio, in terms of distance, St Nick is far more convenient, compared to that other IP school u have been posted to & located in Boon Lay, besides being an \"All Girls\" school. Distance travelling to and fro, up & down, is crucial, for Secondary school.
During St Nick interview this morning, did interviewers ask whether u attempted to appeal to SCGS, since u have also met SCGS (IP) COP, at AL 8 ?
Did u ask P or VP, all those \" burning \" questions inside you ? From their reply, do you feel somewhat ... encouraged / comforted ?
From your cheerful response, sounds like today's interview is positive ... i guessed correctly ?
Just that u have to make a decision ?
If St Nick has given u a Form to fill up and
ask u to bring this Form over to that IP school in Boon Lay,
for that Principal over there to sign to acknowledge to release u officially (that is, proper withdrawal from that IP school),
and then
bring this signed signature Form back to St Nick to submit to GO, that means ...
your Appeal to Transfer into St Nick, has been successful.

( by the way, all those questions I posed to u above, do not need to answer me ) -

Yet to receive the outcome 🙏
I try to be positive and cheerful all the time 😄
I guess that’s my coping mechanism
No matter what the result is #1 St Nic or #2 IP sch, my girl said she’ll abide and ready to give her best wherever she’ll be (🤷🏻
️ she’s more mature than me)
Whoa… I didn’t even know we can appeal for SCGS IP even tho we didn’t include it in the list 🥹🫣 both schools are equally convenient with new TEL MRT stations nearby
:thankyou: -
SCGS appeal form is closed already (of cos 😬)
wish I was more informed and more kiasu as a mom 😮💨😓 tho we all know her chance is very2 slim to appeal to this sch
“This form is not available.
Error [003]: Thank you for your interest, but we no longer accept appeals for admission to Sec 1 for 2022.” -

Dd successfully transferred to #1 choice from #2 posting
Closer to home
Her dream school
to both (bbpinksg and daughter).
Your daughter will be in safe hands, in St Nick
😀
so happy for both of u 💓
Goody, goody.
Now, no need to shift house anymore to Boon Lay. Shifting house is a big headache, with all the messy boxes, packing & un-packing, barang barang -

But now we have to wake up and getting ready for the “battle” hahaha
Since we got accepted late, my DD hasn’t bought the uniform and books yet
And she missed the orientation day on 27/12
May I know how to join CCA esp String ensemble, she’s aiming this CCA
How does the environment like?
Do we need tuition? I mean in OP do you afford to get tuitions? Since they will be very2 busy everyday already… -

Sorry for my late reply, yday we settled the transferred documents
That day we went to St Nic for interview was late in the afternoon (4-ish) so not many students seen there anymore but we only stayed for less than 30mins or so…
There’s only a girl wearing St Nic’s totebag being interviewed before DD (I assumed this girl is a senior asking for a transfer to IP or other matter)
The other girl is the girl I mentioned, asking for a chop from VP to get transferred to SCGS
So we saw only these 2 girls and yesterday morning when I picked up the form, there’s only 1 form prepared (my DD form) but I might be wrong also
The interview is not like an interview is more like a briefing, with the interviewer (VP) said she needed to check some stuff with DD, with her getting questions from my DD more than she asked DD anything, it was a very friendly and very informative “briefing” but the result is given the next day (not immediately)
My DD asked few questions and got explained a bit more about St Nic and she felt somehow relieved but when we went to the IP school and asked them to release her, she felt the reality kicked in and got a bit emotional to see that school building for one last time hahaha
That’s my girl, she so melodramatic 😮💨
=================
I heard that most of the students attending St Nic are St Nic’s alumnaes children, I feel a bit discouraged because I’m not St Nic’s alum and my english not even that good 😆🥲
