Yes, a very significant increase in COP under the new PSLE AL Score.

Increase by 2 points in PSLE Score is bad since the range for Express is 4 - 20 only.
I do not know if there is another autonomous school with a COP of 16, is there?
Even schools in Sengkang Hougang that are not autonomous have much better COP
eg SJC is 13, Holy Innocents’ High is 15.
And i understand these schools have long waiting list (hopefully what their office staff say is correct).
And to my horror, when I went over to Xinmin, I overheard teachers talking about another teacher just resigned last week (and this is still happening even though the previous Principal has been transferred out from school/MOE?).
I have decided that I will only submit my appeal for my DD to the 2 schools above - hopefully good news.

Based on the list above, Katong Convent(increase by 1) and St Anthony's Canossian(same as last year) got 16 too. Some schools like Commonwealth, St Margaret, PLMGS, Anglican also increase at least by 2 to 3 AL.

            Hi all,

I just been to XMS to revisit my alma mater (since i graduated in 2012). I must say the good teachers that have been there teaching when i was a student nearly half of them has changed. I managed to grab a quick coffee with some of the new teachers and while yes there are news of new management and how it may affect the standing of the school, overall the teachers are still dedicated to teaching the students well and at the end of the day its the O Level grades that matter to the student in terms of which school they get the progress into. While yes management may have politics right now but all schools have their fair share. I’m just glad that teachers are still committed (i even saw how a teacher was giving remedial classes to a group of 12-15 students even past 6pm when i was on my way back).

Anyways self intro i am a full time Math specialist tutor (ex Top-Banker, Honours in NUS Double Degree Programme Finance and Economics) who has classes slots opened for 2023 and am starting limited intake now. My classes are at 212 Hougang Street 21 so let me know via Whatsapp @ 91593824 if you are keen.

I’ve taught at a number of schools (including top schools) and I must say no school is free of politicking.

The increase in AL from 14 to 16 could be due to DSA. This itself does not necessary imply a decline in academic standards. What matters is whether this school could value-add to students’ learning and holistic development. Only time will tell.

Went to open house in 2023 and my child is in the school currently. Reasonably good school. Children are well mannered. The New P is energetic, and school is prompt in responding. Disciplined is strict. Overall didn’t regret our choice.
