Pen88n:
Heard that Bugis area is flooded. You may want to re-think your plans :roll:Thanks for update hquek. Really appreciate it.
Was thinking if I should get the kids there this afternoon, but very reluctant due to the gloomy weather. Your update certainly save me the trip. We will go National Library and Bras Basah later instead  -

hi mummies,Back from MPH sale. Damage considerably less. Prices are still consistent with the past ($3 for 1, $10 for 5/ 1 for $5 and 5 for $20...).
Got some Neil Gaiman books (condition not that great, but at $3, I don't care), Michael Morpurgo. Nothing else that caught my eye. Was looking for G. Stilton, but cannot find. Maybe I don't have affinity with this series.
Also didn't see many Usborne Young Readers series books - only a couple of stray titles. Not many reference/non-fiction books; not many enid blytons (I only saw 1 paperback, totally don't have the omnibuses); didn't detect Little Men/Miss books. Sorry if it puts anyone off going, but I don't want to raise pp's expectations. That said, they MAY add these on Sat/Sunday.
There were lots of New Moon franchise related books, Toby Tucker (whoever that is), Disney type books.
Sorry I don't have time/energy to go General books.
But I feel that the variety this time not there.
Just to add on to hquek's comments. There are indeed very few Usborne Young Reading this round. Managed to get 2 titles of which one was in fact picked up from the discarded stack at the cashier. I also managed to find a couple of Little Mr/ Miss, Magic Tree House and Magic Schoolbus books but again, that was because I got lucky (this mummy returned a stack of books to the table). Hence, it's truly touch and go.
After Expo, I made a pit stop to check out the other sale by Times Bookshop at AMK Industrial Park. All books are going at $2. Saw many people leaving with bags and bags of books but I only managed to get one book.

Anyway, to those who are minded to go, just keep heart that they will replenish with new stuff from time to time (like evenings/weekends). -

I went to MPH sale too, and didn't find much range for choices. Last year's was a \"harvest\" for me. This time, I didn't see much of Dr Seuse, Usborne, Rainbow series. A bit disappointing, there are not even much of baby or toddler books around. Managed to buy some books though, including Dan Brown's Lost Symbol at $20.

1. Many books, but may/not be messy (understand that they have been improving on the payment etc process).
2. Cheap prices. Bundles of magazines going for $5 per bundle, but these tend to be very outdated. Last year, I got 2005/6 magazines.
3. Condition tend to be grubby - library books, what to expect.
4. Can get crowded, so go early if you are minded.
Bought a couple of usborne reference and some magazines but hate to touch it cos it's very eeerrrr. If you are not at all fussy about the condition, by all means, have fun there. And let us know how it was this year.

hquek,
