RI vs Nanyang JC (JC 1 & 2)
-
You can get your son to visit both JCs open house, ask the Seniors over there all the " burning " questions that he has. From there, make the decision himself.
Is best that
your son make the decision himself. Because then, he " own " the decision making process, himself. So that come whatever difficulties encountered in future in either JC chosen, if he need to solve problems, he will not blame you, the parent.
After visit both Open house, he himself will know deep inside him, which school suits himself better. He will be more inclined towards choosing one JC, over the other.
Example
=======
say,
suppose your son is going to take the popular H2 (PCME) A-level JC subject combination.
At the Open house day,
your son can go and speak directly to these
1) PCME subject JC Teachers or HODs, plus (Principal + VPs)
from
both (RI + Nanyang JC).
From the way the school staff respond to his queries, he already has an inkling towards the human interaction "Chemistry" aspect.
2) PCME subject combination Seniors (students), who bring them to tour around the campus, at these two JCs.
Students are often the best people to get info about these 2 JC, in reality. They can tell u a lot of things, if u know how to ask questions. Thus, your job or homework expected of you, is to prepare a list of "burning" questions that u want to ask / clarify,
even BEFORE
going down for the Open house.
3) can also talk to students / Seniors or school staff, regarding interested in Cca activities.
Conclusion
Visiting Open house is the best method to go and clarity stuff yourself, in both these 2 JCs.
4) of course, the other important factor is to realise everyday if travel up and down, to and fro to the JC, which one Is nearer your house ?
You won’t want your son to travel so far to a JC, as this will tire him physically, every day.
PCME : H2 (Physics + Chem + Maths + Econs) subject combination A-level
