Whether u take UK A-level from
I know of a good number of Singaporeans who have done UK A levels and have successfully enrolled in the local Singaporean universities.
I am not as clear about the case for non-Singaporeans.
( Sinapore or Kuala Lumpur) exam centre, is the same identical set of exam papers -

Thanks..got what you mean. That is for someone who has a lower chance to begin with.. that to me wouldn't make much difference I guess..the UK A should be able be used for overseas studies as backup yeah?
To clarify, what I am less clear about the UK A Levels, is for Singaporean students who take UK A Levels as a private candidate in Singapore, applying to local universities. How are these applications considered? I do not personally know of anyone who has done that. -

it really depends on pre-requisite of course . eg Engr dip may be able to apply comp sci courses in uni
Biz diploma can try accountancy degree , start fr Yr 1 -

Our local uni (NUS + NTU) do accept students with UK-A level.
UK A cant apply into sg universities.
should be v different, SG GCE A level is a killer
ds fren took UKA in msia, one yr later went to UK degree prog, just need money to send there, msian advantage ,
no need NS, choice not to take GCE A too
Only that we not sure what's the proportion of intake seats, by this group of applicants -
Mp, UK A is 1 year only?

UK A levels is 1.5 to 2 years if studying in the UK. But for students repeating A levels (i.e. fail SG A levels then want to do UK A levels), usually can get by with one year.

From SEAB-A switching over, to attempt UK-A, should be much easier lah !

Whereas
From SEAB-A switching over to IB, must find out
if there's any cut off age, and
how much difference in syllabus, per core subject. -

Will think more when confronted with the situation. To me, the child's input is very important. If no buy in or interest, or not ready or not willing, no point. I am open to kids taking some time out, i.e. gap year etc, if they need it for their mental health or for whatever reasons. I don't wish for it to happen, but if it does, will deal with it then.
Oh ok..can get a 2nd chance.
