Thank you in advance. -

Area of ΔABE+Area of ΔCDE=Area of ΔAED+Area ofΔEBCQ4) ABCD is a rectangle. The area of triangle ABE is 80cm2. The area of triangle CDE is 30% of the area of rectangle ABCD.
Find the area of rectangle ABCD.
Since ΔABE&ΔCDE have common base and ΔAED&ΔEBC have common base.
Area of ΔABE+Area of ΔCDE=50% of Area of rectangle ABCD
Since Area of ΔCDE = 30% of Area of rectangle ABCD,
Area of ΔABE = 50%-30%=20%
20%=80 cm² (Given that Area of ΔABE=80 cm²)
100% = 80 cm² x5 = 400 cm²
Area of rectangle ABCD = 400 cm²

Mrs LimQ13) It takes Mrs Lim 7 hours to sew a dress by herself. If Mrs Tan helps her, they will take 3 hours to sew the dress. How long will Mrs Tan take to sew the dress by herself?
7 hours -> 1 dress
3 hours -> 1/7x3 = 3/7 dress
Mrs Tan
3 hours -> 1-3/7 = 4/7 dress
1 dress -> 3x7/4 = 21/4 = 5.25 hours
For Mrs Tan to sew 1 dress by herself, she will need 5.25 hoursabc_parent:
From 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., time lapsed = 2½ hoursQ16) At 8am, Richard left Town A in his car and travelled towards Town B at 90km/h. At the same time, Kenny left Town A in his car and travelled in the opposite direction towards town C. When Kenny reached Town C at 10.30am, Richard was 15 km away from Town B.
a) What was the distance from Town A to Town B?
b) If the distance between Town B and C was 440km, what was Kenny's average speed?
(90 km/hx2½h)+15km = 240 km
(a) Distance from Town A to Town B = 240 km
Distance from A to C =(440-240)km = 200 km
since it was given that distance between Town B and Town C = 440 km
Average speed of Kenny = 200 km÷2½h = 80 km/habc_parent:

Cindy paid 3/5 of the amount Aisha and Bala paid.
Bala paid $10 more than Aisha.
The next day, Danny returned $24 to Cindy and some money to Aisha and Bala.
How much did Danny return to
a) Aisha?
b) Bala?
3 : 5
Total price for the gift = (3+5)u = 8u as Danny had forgotten to bring his money.
A : B : C : D
2 : 2 : 2 : 2
A+B= (2+2)u = 4u
Danny returned $24 to Cindy
(3-2)u= u = $24
Bala paid $10 more than Aisha
(5-4)u= u
Amount of money that Aisha paid for Danny = $(24-10)÷2=$7
(a) Amount of money returned by Danny to Aisha = $7
$(10+7)=$17
(b) Amount of money returned by Danny to Bala = $17
