I was just thinking how far we’ve come since the Wuhan virus outbreak & today, I was able to note that I’m still washing up the moment I return home fr anywhere, carry my hand sanitizers, DH & I wld wash our soiled notes/coins at the wet mkt before returning home, etc. All these were habits we were not typically sensitized to do as part of our lives pre-covid days.

Granted there are still recalcitrant masks-free individuals who wld walk in to clinics but I’ll nvr fail to hand them a piece if the nurse assistants are too busy to instruct them to do so. Yes, I got a stare the other day when I had food poisoning waiting at the clinic when this young man was shocked that I wld point him out. The ladies behind the counter was afraid they might offend their clients but I unabashedly told them they hv the authority to insist masks to be worn by the authority. The other man with elderly quickly took my masks & wear.

I believe the majority of us wld do the right thing for our health & the health of others. I’ll not be surprised if the numbers go up drastically, we’ll go back to mask-on days. But with >80-90% vaccination rates, I believe it’s less aggressive then what we had before 3 years back. Feels more like it’ll be part of common flu.

DH was WFH this week as he caught the flu some weeks back & the symptoms of persistent cough & blocked nasal passage still stubbornly lingers. When we both caught Omicron, we were done within the week & with less persistent effects once we did our throat gurgle, NeilMed to clear the nasal, Panadol & a couple of days’ rests, tho the hazy brain took abit longer to clear. We’ve not lived fearfully but with caution.

German immunologist are now claiming that the pandemic is over! Though I wldn’t relax soon so as I’m expecting Chinese travels to increase & initial increase in covid numbers, but if we continue to be diligent in our hygiene practices, when the numbers stabilized, we’re still holding up our economy. I don’t wish to see our small economy go downhill after all the hardwork to bring in new investors post covid.

The last thing I want to do is live in fear with lockdowns or border closed & not able to spend time together with my extended family for CNY.

I think back to lockdown days may be highly unlikely bec much of the population is fully vaccinated.

Now the qn is when the mask can be removed totally.

Don’t think I want to go mask-less now foe a while expecting hordes of PRCs. At least not till Feb, then assess the situation again.

My circle of friends also bring along during their holidays/trips/exchange.

                    Hi all,

                    Need your 2 cents…
Son, 12+ yrs, took 2 PD dose a year ago, caught covid last yr. We received reminder for booster for him but havent taken him for it yet, or maybe not since now no regulation to. Almost gonna be a year since his last vaccine. The booster will be the adult dose. To take or not to take.
Any data on bivalent jab for youth?

Younger child 5+, took first PD dose last yr, trying to drag a little longer before next dose; haven’t considered her booster yet. Her PD did advise before to wait for bivalent jab for second dose but Im not sure if they have that in PD dose. She never had covid.

I’m just thinking if can avoid then just avoid potential side effects that come along with vaccines, esp one with short historic data

i read that instead of counting the doses taken, now the mindset is when was your last dose.

I took 4 doses; dh and dd had 3 doses.

Soon, I will go for the bivalent dose. Dh, being age above 50 would do so. Dd would be still at her 3rd dose.
                      Star,
Have you already taken the bivalent dose?
