2030 ACS (Tengah) primary 1 intake will
Is my understanding correct: P1 registration for ACS (P) at Tengah, will no longer have Phase 1 , 2A and 2B?
still have Phase 1 for siblings and Phase 2A for Alumni / old boys, existing.
But not sure whether the old boys association (Alumni) will still send their sons so far to Tengah all the way, since most of them are rich, staying in condo / landed around city areas like Newton, Bukit Timah area.
Imagine. You stay in Chancery Court (Bukit Timah). ACS primary is just a few minutes, within walking distance downstairs. You can easily reach home, within 15 minutes time. But now, from 2030 onwards, u got to go all the way to Tengah there, so far. Now, how long will it take to travel to there ?
It won't benefit them, in terms of their sons travelling up and down, to and fro twice, everyday (Mon to Fri)
This shift will only benefit residents staying close or nearby Tengah.

Is this Tengah site permanent or temporary? Tengah is really v far near Lim Chu Kang or NTU is it? Is this the Govt plan to increase hdb take up rate there?

I see that
this is Government strategy in the foreseeable future that
more élite schools move to more rural, \"ulu\" or remote areas,
to ease up more land for Govt future hdb sales.
If they can do this to ACS,
likewise, MOE can also do the same thing to other popular GEP schools like Nanyang primary, Rosyth, etc. Maybe, do a trial run with ACS first, to see how it goes -
Tengah is not very far West. It is considered North-West, near the fringe of Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak area.

I find some of the 'conspiracy theories' laughable.
As highlighted by press reports and the school's management, ACS were the party that first approached MOE about relocating one of the two ACS primary schools. The reasons stated (for the school's management) were logical and understandable: low birth rates and more younger families moving to new and emerging estates, as well as the need to serve the needs of the wider society.
Not that difficult to guess that probable locations for such a move would either be the Northwest corridor (Tengah and beyond) or the Northeast corridor (Punggol / Sengkang / new future town in Paya Lebar). Those are the places that Singapore would be developing in the next 10 to 30 years. I understand modernity has made many people's memory limited, any text more than 140 characters and any moving images cannot be more than 3 minutes are forgotten, but ACSP is hardly the first primary school to make such a move - SNGS, CHS, MTS, etc have all moved into (then) developing estates.
P/S: As a city state, Singapore is VERY small. Unless ACS wanna move to Pulau Ubin, there's hardly any place that's 'far' or ulu (though I can understand that 'far' is subjective).
The more relevant and interesting discussion would be the choice of which of the two primary schools to move and that's up to the school's management. TBH, I would have thought ACSJ is the more obvious choice because (1) the land in which it occupied does not belong to them (vs Baker Road site which is owned by the Methodist community), and (2) it's 'separated' from the ACS village. The choice of ACSP, thus, could really be due to the history behind the Baker Road site, and the desire to introduce a GEP centre to the Northwest corridor

Ah I see. It is all a big mess really. ACS has always been on the move and having different sites concurrently for its primary section. Depending who you speak to, some claim prominence over the other site.

It is more near to Bukit Batok West, come down to Bukit Batok Road to explore the future Tengah New Town.
