Thank you. I agree with your sharing. Essentially, how good a school is depends very much on the quality of the students it receives. The general thinking is: good schools will attract good students, so if I get into a \"good\" school, my child will have a chance to interact with \"good\" students and teachers and hence become \"good\".

There's nothing wrong with this thinking, except that such thinking will ultimately drive schools to become more and more elitist, and it leaves out the possibility of really good students/teachers getting into \"average\" schools. I still remember several years ago, Qifa suddenly had the top scorer in PSLE and after that, interest in the school increased tremendously.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter if we think a school is \"good\" or \"average\". We know that MOE will provide the necessary support to ALL schools which will sit for the same final exam. It is up to the individual to excel. The school will merely bask in its students' glory.

The biggest question is: does the school and other circumstance provide the impetus for the student to WANT to do well? The answer is really as varied as the total number of students in the country.

CFS ballot < 1km for Phase 2B in 2022 and 2021, and 1-2km in 2020. I think the trend is indicative of the competitiveness for getting into CFS. If the numbers for Phase 1 and Phase 2A are going to be high, and if there are many Phase 2B applicants < 1km, you will most likely be out of the running.

My suggestion would be to plan for Phase 2C and an alternative as your chance is going to be very low.

Also, for Chongfu 2B, going back in time brings into play the outcomes where seats after 2A were split 50:50. Unfortunately, with 2B now only receiving 1/3 of the remaining spots (after 2A) it seems like the odds of a ballot slipping to 1-2 km are not that high.

Refer to https://www.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration to understand what the various phases mean.

Once you can't find / enter a school at one of the earlier phases, you will have to register for Phase 2C. Under Phase 2C, you won't stand a chance for CFS as it will ballot < 1km. Planning for Phase 2C means you have to consider or find another school to register.

Hi, if you are talking about P1 and 2, there is no streaming. Achieving is the 3rd class but it is randomly allocated for P1 n 2
