In Sep 2019 when I engaged the helper, it was kind of a rush bec dad was at SACH and due to return home but no helper employed. Thru word of mouth, the agent brought a helper and we did briefly read thru the contract and thought that as this was the standard practice, better quickly signed and get the helper to look after dad.

I don’t think the Philippines embassy can dictate pymt further than the common practice here in SG. Workers in SG, shld follow local practices.
Give it a go for the contract sans paid leave. I believe the only thing that matters is that her work permit has got a renewed term for her to return for employment & hence her tax. Ensure her POEIA is current & if expiring, she’ll hv to get it sorted out the moment she’s home. -

We’re all doing our best as daughters, DIL, mother & wife. We need to outsource basic work to trusted help & yet not be fleeced when we hv to work to finance some of these domestic helper expenses (salary, levy, airfare, food, etc). So we’ve also to exercise wisdom how to attract our helpers to return & find value in their feelings of their work without panicking & rewarding them unnecessarily. How I wish our own eyers pay our taxes, but thankful govt help ease tax our obligations.

They’ll test u hor, see if u’re kind to pay that sum which they think Sporeans will find it small.
Good that we can help each other & share fair practices. I’m also learning coz I don’t hire helpers fr Philippines for various reasons. Maybe someday I’ve to, nobody knows. -

In late Jan 2023, I signed up for a caregiver training organised by Jaga Me for my helper who looks after my dad.
I find the assigned nurse who came to my dad's home is professional and knowledgeable.
This Jaga-Me agency is also recommended by SASC which my dad attends his weekly session.
