ACSP cannot move out of Barker Road?

What about other schools which had to vacate their premise to new site?

Perhaps such ACS mentally is the reason why MOE decide to move the school to Tengah.

Perhaps the next thing MOE will do is to review affiliation COP?

          1)
          At PSLE,
P6 girls tend to do better than boys.

After shifting over to Tengal, maybe Affliation Cut off point will change for ACS.

          2) some of the Ccas will need to be newly introduced, since now got girls studying inside, at Tengal. Perhaps introduce new Ccas like Chinese dance, Modern dance, Rhythmic Gymnastics, etc.

            Don’t know why.

            Although
( Fairfield Methodist, Geylang Methodist) primary schools are already co-ed, we can accept this.

But this thing about ACS turning co-ed,
i find it very hard and it pains me and also very SAD, forced to accept
            because

            for so many past decades,
ACS is always linked to boys / young men teenagers mentality. It just doesn’t gel that huh, now ACS inside also got girls ? Even though I have no kid studying in ACS before, but to me, ACS represent the emblem of very strong BROTHERHOOD and men Leadership.

Just like, in the same way …
we always associate (MGS + Paya Lebar PLMGS), with girls only.

With the shock development that ACSP has to relocate to Tengah, I think anything can happen now, really up to MOE to decide.

I feel that RGPS is quite vulnerable given that it is sandwiched between two other girls schools nearby (MGS Pri and SCGS Pri) plus there’s another GEP centre (NYPS) that is just 5 mins away. Who knows, it could well be the next one to be relocated to Punggol/Sengkang area and ‘advised’ to go co-ed as well.
              Indeed,
if one day, if what we envision come true, say,
MOE were to shift RGPS (Bukit Timah) to far away site like to

Sengkang / Buangkok / Punggol / Woodlands / Pasir Ris / any other remote newly given-birth hdb neighbourhood that's going to arise in future

              OR

              suddenly also turn co-ed,
              then
we will have to change the name of RGPS, strip off that \"Girls\" portion part, become renamed as -

              \"Raffles Primary school \" (co-ed RPS),
              instead of her
current name, \"Raffles Girls' Primary school\" (RGPS),

              In the same manner,
which Canossa Convent Primary school (an all girls school once before) has been renamed to

Canossa Catholic Primary school (co-ed), at 1 Salim road

I find this ACSP move totally incomprehensible and unacceptable.

No schools in Singapore have moved from one location to another. No schools in Singapore have turned from single gender to co-ed. why must ACSP be the first one to lead by example?

Is it because ACSP is being seen as an elite school? Why can’t other elite schools move instead? If MOE would like a GEP centre in the west / northwest, they should appoint First Tengah Primary School as a GEP centre instead of asking the Board of Governor of an existing school to move.

maybe ACS is not producing enough ACS GEP students at the current site?

Schools move around all the time. RGS move to Bishan just not too long ago and RGPS site was moved from Ghim Moh campus.

Will traditions and things stay the same when it becomes co-ed? Will ACS not give up boys only sports like rugby and offer a homogenous sports like basketball or VB so that girls can join. Will there be a recalibration of activities or cca in view of finite resources? Will these recalibration cause some of these traditions to disappear?
And if it’s in the name of diversity why doesn’t ACSJ offer co-ed too?
In the name of diversity, ACSJ should also go co-ed and relocate to another developing new town like Punggol. One goes to the North-West and the other goes to the North-East! Then there is nothing to argue about. Or else biased treatment.

Like St Nic and Cath High, want to move, whole cohort move together, there is no St Nic1 or St Nic2 or Cath High1 or Cath High2. I can understand why ACSP alumni can feel 心里不平衡.

Read someone suggested to open to both alumni…I think good idea also since the current two schools not too far away. Don’t completely cut off one side.

I searched from Google - St. Nicholas Girls' School was relocated from Victoria Street to Ang Mo Kio New Campus in 1985. Gan Eng Seng School was a boy school for 102 years before it became a coeducational school in 1987.
