Hi Winsomelosesome,
Can you please share where did you get this information that you mentioned in your post?
“A level results are declining.
Njc (2nd-3rd last) falls behind the rest IPs JCs, only ahead of Tjc(last).” -

Probably the same person with multiple KSP usernames who was \"contributing\" to the other JC threads... making sweeping statements to \"push\" up his own JC of interest and put down others

End of the day, someone’s point is just to prove and convince others that NJ is no longer amongst the top schools, the standard has dropped and will drop further. Students in this school are mostly those who cannot make it to the top IP schools and likely to do not as well as compared to other IP schools.
Well even if it is true, but for me it doesn’t really matter. My child chose this school even though the kiddo can easily get into other so called top IP schools. We went in with our eyes open and we are happy with our decisions because NJ is still a decent good school and we don’t measure that just by academic performance. -
@ryka and ski, this is someone who has multiple KSP usernames and had frequently picked fights in other JC threads (and lost terribly, hence now coming to the NJC thread to try his luck trolling). Don’t bother to engage him. We, as genuine parents, are happy to share with genuine parents. But he is a nobody and a real annoyance. The best way to deal with such people is to give him the silent treatment. Don’t waste your time and energy, not worth it.

It's nice to see many helpful parents still around. Yea, many with graduated kids have positive experiences, isn't it? :rahrah:

I can guess from his statement that he’s looking for an argument :nunchuk: -

Junior yrs no issue, its A level results thats a concern.
You sounded very gracious.
\"we went in with open eyes\", we don't measure that just by academic performance.\"
End of day, is the A level grades that determine Uni entry.
Reconsider other IPs Ejc, RV, DHS which are better.
Cheers!
why are the above ejc, rv,dh better ?
The O level cut off point for Sci above is 9 and 10 ,BUT NJC is 7 - a raw of 3 pts difference is quite substantial right?

:?[/quote]I think the logic is:
The COP of NJC is lower than those schools that you have pointed out.
YET the output of NJC is not much better than those schools that you have pointed out.
Unfortunately, it may not be that easy to compare unless we know the result of the IP vs IP, OP vs OP and overall vs overall. -

Please clarify. Posts that are relevant to Senior High have been moved to this thread while those relating to Junior High remain in the original thread. No posts were removed unless they are duplicates (like what winsomelosesome have been doing to her last post).
Can someone advise why is it that when some troublemaker stirs shit at EJC home thread, those arguments/posts stay permanently at the EJC thread while when the same someone posts not so nice comments on the NJC thread, they were removed immediately?
Why the different treatment for the 2 JC home threads? Only can say nice things at NJC thread? When others say not so nice things, NJC parents cannot fight back? -

Then in this case, I would suggest that NJC home thread be renamed NJC (Junior High) to be consistent! -

I have a gal in njc and one in nygh . Basically why njc becos she doesn’t want to go all girls school . Haha ! Why Gals always have petty issues .
She enjoyed all her 6 years there . She was given lots of opportunities. CCA , she can choose what she likes .In fact she doesn’t feel as stress as my 2nd gal . Who say don’t score well in NJC . She scored straight A for all her subjects in last A level. -

We chose NJC because we see the school overall not solely to its A level performance. However, I can’t help but to check the validity of the claim for NJC A-level last year result. There was NO MEAN indicated in the A-level news release, only MEDIAN 84.4 given. IMHO, one cannot conclude that Mean is always lower (and if does by how much) with the limited information release to the public. -

For this year (2019),
This year SH1 board for only 2 weeks (cos’ the cohort for SH is much larger); no boarding for SH2.
when was the 2 weeks SH1 boarding, conducted ?
was it conducted in Term 1 (January), beginning of the year, or towards examination time, in Term 3 ?
Is this 2 weeks SH1 boarding compulsory, at Junior College level ?
Can opt out ?
During these 2 weeks stay, how is the arrangement of sleeping dormitory like ?
Is it girls sleep on even level, guys sleep odd level, within the same dormitory block,
or
girls and boys sleep in different, separate dormitory block, where girls and boys are out of bound, from each other block ? -

NJC always looks after the students’ welfare. They will not arrange boarding during exam time, especially in the more critical years (like JH3, 4, and SH1). The SH1 boarding is in early March (end of Term 1), if I remembered correctly.

As sembgal has already shared, JH4 boarding is in Term 1 and JH3 in Term 3 (both don’t clash with mid year or end of year exams). JH3 in Term 2 (also no mid year), and JH1 in Term 4 (more time for the first years to get settled down in the new school).
Boarding is compulsory and can only opt out if you have valid reasons. I can’t exactly remember, but it is likely that the girls and boys are on different levels. I can’t exactly remember because there were no issues or concerns that were encountered or raised so after the first year I don’t really bother anymore. -
Boys and girls are separated on different floors. A mentor is stationed on each. Students have been sternly cautioned on the consequences. Lifts & door entrances (to stairs) are only accessible by ezlink cards. There is strict boarding security & outsiders (even parents) are not allowed (except for check-in day or scheduled tour day) in. Didn’t the school’s briefing cover these concerns, my dear?
