No, cannot confirm that NYJC is in low 80s

      because

nothing about NYJC, was put inside reddit

      https://www.reddit.com/r/SGExams/comments/114cua9/alevel_results_by_junior_college/

      thsheng99,

      Can u then show us
that reddit link which show NYJC is in the low 80s, since u mentioned u have read it ?
      Yes, show us pls.

The only info regarding NYJC I can find from Reddit are:

A: "im frm thr and i chatted w the principal, the mean is about 83.75rp and the median is 85-86." (By A)

B: "j3 from nyjc, they always announce the mean but like 1 week later during school hours on the PA system… idk why j3 not even in sch what to hear.
but my class (PCME) got 86 rp as our mean… don’t know the school’s mean but yeah."

Based on the above, it seems like there was no announcement and J3 students were not in school. I didn’t include the above mean/median in my compilation as this is not so credible as it came from one single person and can not be verified by others.

86 has beee touted as NYJC’s mean for the 2021 A level results. That is highly suspect as HCI and RI cannot achieve that in 2022 even with medians of 88.

Even 86 as a median must have been rounded as I cannot derive this exact number using the rank point calculator testing various combinations.

Good that you filter out suspect information. Thank you.

86 as Median, not Mean as shared by reddit.
Other JCs could have rounded their Median rp as well.
            Eg Ejc has 4/10 got 3H2 A, Vjc 5/10 got 3 H2 A.
Tjc Mean 82, then Medium reported 85 too.
jcs Median are 85. So who rounded the Median.

Nanyang Junior College Mean cannot be 86. But, Median (86), Yes, is possible.

              Two years ago,
For the A level batch 2020, Nanyang JC \"Median\" was 86. Her mean was around ( 83 to 85 ) range, back then.

Why the school’s A levels results must go through Reddit and not through a proper channel, that is the school’s official website? How to trust Reddit?

Becase school like NJYC dont announce what is their mean amd median

Maybe they need to depend on unsubstantiated sources like Reddit to give an impression they did well or in the low 80s
