If only take 3H2, still need constrasting subject?

But agree that most will still think taking 4H2 is safer, but really need to weigh against the time needed.

To differentiate, more will want to take H3??

Under the new system, the fourth content-based subject will only be counted for university admissions if it improves a candidate’s score.

What does it mean ? How will it be determined how much it is worth to be counted or not to be counted?
It is similar to how UAS score is rebased using Mother Tongue currently. If a student scores UAS 90, there is no need to include Mother Tongue for UAS calculation. If the score is below UAS 90, they can rebase using Mother Tongue and use the higher of the 2 scores (UAS with and without Mother Tongue). You can use online UAS calculator to see the scores.

So for the new system, if a student scores UAS 70, there is no need to include the 4th content subject for UAS calculation.

Why don’t moe implement for this year jc1 batch hahaha……

What happens to this batch who needs to repeat A level? The 4th H1 which is the contrasting subject then how?

If I am a 2005 or 2006 boy, if I apply for university in 2026 together with the 2007 kids, the RP computation would be under the 70 point and not 90 point system right?

Interesting… think there are a lot of fine tuning here and there for moe to do to cater for different possible scenarios…

                    Hi

You also raised a very good point whether there’s a need to take contrasting subject.

Will taking H3 add value and enhance the chance to go University ? If it adds value like what HMT does, I’m sure more will want to take H3 subjects.

Why can't MOE implement this new change immediately? I doubt there is any implication for any delay.

I guess everyone will use the new system once it is in place. May be wrong though ... let's wait for details from MOE.
