Recession may be needed to reset things. Short term pain but in the longer term, our economy will be healthier.

Otherwise our economy will be very warpped. Did you watch the video where fresh grads’ asking starting salary is $9K-$10K. Which employer can afford them? So much more expensive than those from regional countries!

My brother’s friend bought a new condo. Haven’t collected keys but home loan repayments soared from the initial $7K/mth to $12K/mth. The couple has to hold two jobs each now. They intend to dispose the condo once they collect the keys. This is a very unhealthy phenomenon, we will soon be like Hong Kong.
              Didn't u read this article ?

              https://theindependent.sg/household-must-earn-4700-monthly-to-buy-3-room-hdb-flat-report/

              Soon,
by the time your child (son or daughter) grow up into say,
              year 2030 onwards,

the costs of a simple hdb flat can easily rise up to .... $1 million.
              Why ?

              Because

at the rate of today's fast high rapid inflation rate of hdb flat costs, this is where the direction of Singapore is heading towards. This is the trajectory path projection costs of a hdb flat in future, if HDB not going to come in to intervene, nor do something to rescue the burning fire situation. This is going to be a nightmare, especially for millenium born or \" Gen-Z \" children, esp. Those born in year 2000 onwards, by the time they grow up, find their boyfriend / girlfriend to get married to, need to set up a nest to start a new family.

              Then,
next question to ask yourself is,

if you need to fund a minimum costs $1 million hdb flat,
then working backwards, for merely maximum 99 years leasehold,
              calculate & ask yourself -

              how much do u think
your monthly salary need to be,
              in order to
fund & support paying this $1 million simple hdb flat monthly home loan instalment scheme ?

              Answer is -

Your salary need to be minimum earning at least $10k a month,
              in order to
support your monthly pay back housing loan of this $1 million hdb flat.

              ===========================

Then, this situation will lead to another qn.

What happens if u no $, cannot afford to buy even a simple hdb flat but costs minimum $1 million,
              going forward into
turn of the next decade (2030), onwards ?

Well, then that person who can't afford, will become homeless, sleeping around at the void deck of hdb flats, seeking shelter from come rain, thunderstorm or sunshine ! When this happen, it will indeed become a very sad, tragic state of SIngapore.

If there is not much cyclical correction to reset the prices and the co. unable to pay this high salary…we probably see more youngsters got married and staying together with us?

Can rent a HDB house from the government if you are in the lowest income group and cannot offer to buy a HBD Flat.

The younger generation may have to rent instead of buying, if the hdb prices keeps going up.
