      You can use a 2 year lease agreement for P1 Registration.
      However, upon expiry of the lease, if you are not able to get an extension, the onus is on you to look for another unit at the same distance priority or better.

        Hi Parents,


        I have a dilemma which I hope you could help me out.

        We just realised that the school (Let’s call it School X) that we had been targeting for Phase 2C may see a huge change in balloting statistics, due to a few mega launches announced for Q2 2023. These are all within 1km. Coincidentally, we have been eyeing a new property which also have a relatively good school within 1km (Let’s call it School Y). However, due to certain circumstances beyond our control, we are not sure when the OTP for the new property can be signed.

        My question is, can we use our current address for Phase 2C for School X and if we fail to get in, can we then use our (potentially) new address for Phase 2C(S) for School Y? There’s no FAQ on MOE’s website on whether a different address can be used for different phases. I supposed its not a common scenario.

          First off, if School Y is really hot, it might not even be in Phase 2CS.
          Secondly, I think there is a deadline to declare your home address before the start of the exercise. I'm not sure if you can change it with the exercise in progress. Better check with moe.

            If I bought a place at another place and it’s not MOP yet, can I still rent a place within 1km of the desired school for the purpose of P1 registration?


            In case I am not clear, say my house will only MOP in 2028, can I rent another place in 2026 and put it as my address for P1 registration purpose?

            I am asking as if the house is not MOP yet, I would be listed as the owner for my house. Will there be any problem in renting another place and calling it my address?

              U can rent another place and live at the rented place.

              However, since the HDB you own will be left vacant, HDB will not count the 30month period that you are living outside as counting towards your obligatory 5-year MOP. After u move back then start/resume counting. Your change in NRIC address will automatically be communicated to HDB I believe.

                    If the address doesn't tally, Officer will ask you why.

                      Do you know if there is any problem if parents address are not the same? I tried reading about Phase 2B and it only mentioned about fulfilling the required hours.

                        Hi,


                        We had rented a private property near school and we been staying in this ppty for coming 24 months. However, our owned property that is EC had reached MOP period and we are allow to sell the owned property now. I had two questions as I had seen different set of answers.

                        A few clarifications
                        1) we had not rent out or allow other occupiers to stay in the EC during the period we staying at rented ppty. However, we do stay in our owned EC during weekend or holiday.
                        2) we had changed our registered address on our NRIC to the rented ppty as it is required by MOE and since we staying there.

                        Questions
                        1) Since we had changed our registered address on NRIC to the rented property, will this affect our MOP for EC?
                        2) And i reckon we need to change back our address to EC before selling. However, we still left with 6months to go to fulfil 30months for school. Although our tenancy for the rented ppty still ongoing till 30th month, is this allow?
