So phase 1 the IPJC conduct their dsa first after which those unsuccessful can try at phase 2 to non IPJC? Why so weird haha……
Oh, not that.. phase 1 has all the JC schools doing DSA. Just that, phase 2 still has some schools (non ip) left for round 2 if you miss the application phase 1 or didn’t get offered or accept any offers.

Hmmmmm…..why need two phases then? Why not make it simple like the pri-sec dsa.

Maybe not enough students wanna DSA to the other JCs. By sec, most of the students are doing DSA independently without parents. Primary school probably more parental support.

Ya, I also don’t understand the rationale of having 2 phases, with 2 separate deadlines. Won’t this give rise to more confusion among the students? They are juggling these DSA submissions (no centralized portal yet!) amidst their O level prep!

At the moment I get the feeling that DSA-JC is not popular. Possibly via invite otherwise not on their radar.

The students applied once at the beginning but the offers come in 2 waves like uni. Some might appeal during phase 2?

Hmm…i see…so is it like phase 1: the popular schools offer to their most desired candidates, with deadline to accept (if they wish).

Then phase 2 wave of offers is for the “waitlist” batch of candidates further down the list, if any vacancies remain?

Phase 1 is before the O level exams and Phase 2 is after O level. So i guess Phase 1 is more for non-academic talents (academic track record can also apply of course). And https://www.testpapersfree.com/view.php?id=95749.

O-Level results are typically released in January. However, students can still participate in the DSA-JC selection process using their school-based assessments, preliminary exam results, and co-curricular activity records. These records are used to evaluate a student's potential and suitability for admission to a particular JC. Once a student receives their O-Level results in January, they will be offered a provisional placement in a JC based on their DSA application and O-Level results. If they meet the minimum admission criteria, they can accept the provisional offer and start attending the JC in the following academic year.

Hi. Would anyone know what it means if your child receives an invitation to attend a sports trial from a JC? What are the chances of getting accepted?

DD is trying to decide whether to just focus her attention on the schools who have invited her trials or to increase her chances by applying to other schools too.

                      Thanks!

Always cast your net wide, into the ocean. Ask your daughter to apply to other JCs too, to increase her chances.

Only when they offer her that time, then she make the decision, which one she desires to go to. Right now, seek more golden opportunities!
