I have one more question. Can i apply for phase 2b to 2 schools same time? Like if i do PV in frontier and apply for 2B via PV and at the same time apply for westwood via GRL ?
No. You can only be active in 1 school at any time. But you can apply for Frontier in the first day, and then if for any reason you change your mind, you can withdraw your application to Frontier and apply for Westwood in the 2nd day.

Because now everything is coordinated through a central system, there's no way any mistake can happen that allows a person to apply to multiple schools at the same time.

        Hi Parents,

I would like to understand more on the balloting based on distance.

Let’s say for phase 2b, supposing the applicants are more than vacancies and they do ballot, does it mean they will ballot only those applicants within 1km?
In other words, when can the < 2km ballot be done?

Just notice that popular schools only ballot for < 1 km but portal allows us to check school availability within 2 km…

        Thank you all!

          It depends.
          Say there are 100 vacancies.
50 applicants are <1km, while 49 applicants are within 1-2km.
Another 5 applicants are >2km and 5 more are PR.

In this case, the PR won't even get a chance to ballot. Those 50 applicants <1km will get in without balloting. As do the 49 applicants within 1-2km. Only the 5 SC will ballot for the last remaining place.

            Breaking news.

New portal for P1 registration (replaces the old online form).

And new MOE website for us to check balloting stats (shows how many balloted for how many vacancies at what distance - what we all were clamouring for).

I expect a lot of people, like A LOT OF PEOPLE, especially those within 1 km of popular schools, will play the waiting game.

Going to be so exciting going forward :rotflmao:

Lol. It'd be interesting to see how this brand-new-never-before-offered-in-the-68-years-since-MOE-was-started changes the dynamics of the bidding process.

What do you mean by the waiting game? How does it help?

Waiting game means everyone will wait, and wait, to avoid registering and withdrawing / re-registering on the last day.

How does it help? It depends on which side of the fence / which team you are on.

For <1km, they can wait and wait, especially if they have more than 1 viable choice (or are simply undecided). It's now possible to wait, and aim for the school that gives you the best odds. Given that this group *roughly* knows what the odds are, they can spring a surprise on the last day on those >1km applicants who are hopeful of their chances in a particular school.

It's possible that the odds for >1km will dwindle very rapidly on the last day, depending on how things go. Hence, if you are >1km applying for ANY school, you will have to watch the monitor closely, in case you are caught by a sudden influx of <1km applicants.

                        Hi Parents,

First time posting here and need some advice. I’m citizen, completed the PV for Holy Innocents PRI SCH. However, based on the stat for 2022, it seem very competitive even its under 2B. May i check if i should continue to apply for the same school for 2C or i should try others school, eg: Punggol Primary or CHIJ of Navity.

Not very keen for CHIJ, reason being my second one is boy and i will end up sending 2 kids with 2 different primary school.
