Hi all, would like to know, what seems to be the criteria to be shortlisted for the R*, H*, science? Are SPSO medals or programmes like Mcurie more prestigious? Thanks!

Yes, this can be a FAQ during interview, in some DSA schools.
Thank you for your insights!
Another qn:
when the question of \"how many schools did you apply to for this DSA?\" arises...any advise on how to tackle?
Example
=======
In 2019 DSA exercise,
during SST interview (the School of Science & Technology), located at 1 Technology drive -
during Round (2) interview where they arranged four P6 students purposely from assorted, DIFFERENT primary schools to form a group interview to sit together, one Teacher asked them this question, go round the group, one by one :-
1) Total, how many DSA Schools did each of u apply ? And which other schools have you applied to, besides SST, and for which Talent domain ?
Yes, SST can question your child very precisely, \"to which specific Talent domain\", in other competitors DSA schools.
2) And,
how would you rank your choice, if supposing SST were to offer you a CO ?
of course you have to tell them the truth. Integrity, is important.
Inside this group of four P6 students :-
1)
One boy shared honestly that he had applied to 3 DSA schools (NUS High, SST and National Junior College (IP) STEM domain ). He said he has a very strong passion for Science & Technology. Then, he went on to elaborate during the interview, what he did exactly during his spare time at home, to cultivate his scientific passion (interests) further. He politely said that at this point in time, he has not made up his mind yet to rank his choice ... He replied definitely, SST will be highly ranked, seriously considered. He said that he will also need to consult his parents for advice, too.
2) Then, a P6 girl in the same group admitted that she too has applied for 3 DSA schools (SOTA, SST and Methodist Girls Secondary school IB).
The SST teacher exclaimed on the spot, \"wow ! SST is very different curriculum, from SOTA ! \" The girl went on to explain that she love Arts, so she applied for SOTA herself. But is her parents who want her to consider MGS and other non SOTA schools. She was honest, in replying the interviewer. She said she hasn't quite made up her mind yet, will consider later when the offer come ...
For SST Round (2) interview, in case students happen to come from the same, identical P6 class & the same primary school, so SST will spread out students, when forming group interview. For students who happen to come from the same primary school, SST will split u up into different interview grouping(s), for group interview.
=========================
But if u are really keen in that school which u have DSA for,
then
be diplomatic & think of all the 101 good reasons, why u desire to join the school which u are applying DSA for. The only time when u face difficulty answering this type of qn is when ... you yourself are \" half hearted \" in applying for this DSA school. You apply because either u see so many of your fellow classmates applying DSA, so u also jump into the band wagon to join in as well, OR your parents have asked u to apply. -

I wonder where is that girl now, SOTA or SST. -

Congratulation on your son being shortlisted for HCI Science / Math. All the best to him!
Would you mind sharing your son’s portfolio, the science / Math activities involved and the awards achieved? Is he a GEP student (my son is not a GEP student, heard GEP student is at higher chance to be shortlisted by default)
This will be helpful for us to prepare my son for next year’s application.
Thank you so much!

Morning everyone! Quick update to let those of us waiting for the NUS High Round 1 outcome know that the results are not out yet. I just called NUS High and was informed by the staff member. She could not confirm when the results would be announced - so I guess it is a waiting game now. In any case, I am very certain we would not be proceeding to the next round so will remind my kiddo that she should just work towards doing her best for the PSLE
Thanks! -
