                  For Chinese Oral (O level),
anything can come out, under the sun.

A friend of mine, her daughter had revised several topics, but did not come out at all.

Her pu-hua Oral was scheduled on day 3. Her daughter predicted one topic. This topic came out actually, appeared on day 2, one day earlier before her day 3 scheduled.
I think it is more like a process of elimination, ie. Spotting/predicting what will NOT come out (for your scheduled day), rather than predicting what will come out (too many possible topics).

Isn’t that why people are askiny (just like for PSLE) what topics have come out so far? Cos they know it wont be repeated on subsequent days. So can scratch off from your list, mentally prepare for the other topics, no need to keep the tested topics in your brain liao.

There is discussion on the topics on Reddit here, more for students to vent about what went wrong for them:

It is possible for CL and HCL oral topics (the main theme, not exact video) for the same year to \"overlap\" as per your description (or I'll say \"repeat\"), although I haven't noticed it very often. Some reasons why it is \"ok\" (as in no discrepancy) is because the nature of the videos are different and tested component and questions asked will be different too.

                      - CL video is more of an reenactment of scenarios/incidents, with short narration (旁白) - usually 1 to 2 sentences whereas HCL video is more of a news snippet (similar to the kinds you see in news or programs like 前线追踪、星期二特写)where there's narration throughout the video + \"interviews\" of the public.

                      - CL oral conversation does not include 口头报告 whereas HCL does.

                      - Questions will be tweaked. For example, this year's CL Oral Day 2's questions revolve around individual food wastage
, how you will persuade others not to waste food and your opinion on whether Singaporeans are wasteful/take things for granted. For the same topic in HCL, they can ask if you think the Food Waste Reduction Campaign has been a success so far or how should merchants/consumers deal with excess food/kitchen waste (厨余) etc. --- in fact, the scope of questions they can ask is much wider because it isn't as restricted to the video content, unlike CL oral.
These 2 days' N-Level CL oral topics were similar to O-Level CL ones - IT gadgets' impact on social interaction (N Day 1 vs. O Day 2) and Use of public space (N Day 2 vs. O Day 3).

Hi chenlaoshi, I remember hearing that for O levels Higher Chinese (or A levels H1), there is a relatively new format called Planned Response (to a video prompt)? The candidate watches the video then gets prep time to makes notes, then deliver a 口头报告.

Could u pls point me to some You Tube or other video samples for practice? Cos English oral new format is similar (no more passage reading). Would like to see some examples for DS to practice, his EOY oral is surprisingly soon (in term 3!)
