Funz:
What about Bukit Timah Pri? From PSLE results, seems that it's not bad leh.
I will still be in phase 2C. Given that, I will choose Lian Hua as it is nearer to where I am. Getting a place near Pei Hwa is a consideration for us as well but property prices are crazy and I dread moving. Oh well, come September, we will have a clearer picture, that is if we receive a reply from Pei Hwa. -
markfch:
Yah that is also one consideration. But somehow, I have no idea why as well, I have a better impression of Lian Hua compared to Bt Timah Pr.

A friend of mine has 2 gals in MGS primary…no prob since she was a former student but now having a headache where to register her son.
She is considering Bukit Panjang as there is affiliated sec school.
Funz,
Since your daughter is in RGPS, I don’t think it’s a good idea to move house. Are you staying within 1km to Pei Hwa ? -

Funz,
Your daughter is in RGPS ? Pei Hwa will be the best choice for your child.
Bukit Panjang Primary has a high intake too…my son’s classmate from kindy also had to ballot then, though they stay within 1km. -

Yah I know. That goes for most of the neighbourhood schools within Bt batok as well. Problem is I have no priority for Pei Hwa and if I do not get selected for PV, only other choice is to find a place withing 1km. Even then oso not exactly guaranteed a place in Pei Hwa. Hence gotta look for alternatives.Funz,

Hi Funz,
I understand your frustrations. For some schools like Nanyang, MGS, Southview, even 1km have to ballot. That is very frustrating :frustrated:
Property prices are so expensive now, even moving house is another headache. Your child is '05 right ? I have a friend who moved within 1km to Pei Hwa too. Have you thought of renting first ? -
Funz:
Understand your frustration, especially when we don't want our kids to grow up and accuse us of being biased by sending them to different sch

In this sense, some older generation parents had a easier time. My dad just sent me to his alma mater even though there were tons of schs that were so much nearer.

Markfch,
My parents sent me and brother to the same school as cousins.
My mum will send us ALL to school and uncle will pick us up after school. This went on until my older 2 cousins left primary school. BTW, we live very near to each other then. -

DH's old school is too far. I did say just get DS into any decent school in this area. But DH disagreed. Same thinking as you. He said dun want next time DS accuse us of being unfair.
