      Hi,

We had rented a private property near school and we been staying in this ppty for coming 24 months. However, our owned property that is EC had reached MOP period and we are allow to sell the owned property now. I had two questions as I had seen different set of answers.

      A few clarifications
      1) we had not rent out or allow other occupiers to stay in the EC during the period we staying at rented ppty. However, we do stay in our owned EC during weekend or holiday.
      2) we had changed our registered address on our NRIC to the rented ppty as it is required by MOE and since we staying there.

      Questions
      1) Since we had changed our registered address on NRIC to the rented prop
erty, will this affect our MOP for EC?
      2) And i reckon we need to change back our address to EC before selling. However, we still left with 6months to go to fulfil 30months for school. Although our tenancy for the rented ppty still ongoing till 30th month, is this allow?
      Wow... interesting questions 🙂

I'm no expert but let me try:
      1. I think you may have a problem here. According to an excerpt from this https://www.propertyguru.com.sg/property-guides/mop-sell-hdb-singapore-16413:
\"... Note that the HDB MOP starts from the day you collect your keys, and doesn’t include any period when you’re not residing in the flat.
For example, if you’ve lived in your flat for four years, and then spend a year living overseas, you’ll still be a year short of the MOP when you return. You need to live in your flat for another year before you can rent or sell your flat or buy another private property.\"

If both parents had changed their address to the rented place, well, I don't think you have reached MOP yet. But if one parent still retains the address to the EC, well, there might be hope.

        Hi Chief and Parents,

If I am old boys of Nanyang Primary School and stay 1.5Km from the school, what is the chances of getting my child to the school?

          Based on 2022 data, it’s 100% chance for 2A <2km:

And for 2C, you have no chance of even balloting. The school will definitely ballot within 1km. This year, it might even be slightly more than last year.

Oops... I missed what you wrote about being an old boy. Yes, for the last 2 years, it has been balloting for those >2km, as @zac's_mum said.

Hello experts, if I got in via 1km I know I need to stay for 30 months more within 1km. Can I move to another house which is inside of 1km? After I move how do I inform school? I assume as long as it’s inside the distance they won’t care that you move house around? Thank you

I think what you need to do is to update your address at your kid's school, something you have to do anyway if you are going to receive mail from the school. It would be different in every school, but I've seen some parents' gateway portal with that functionality. I don't think there's any MOE portal for you to do it. Mostly, it is a trust model. If you do it anyhow and for example, move from Pasir Ris to Tuas, well, some administrator might notice and then you might get into trouble.

Move within 1km is ok, in the MOE faq. U can inform school via email, alternatively in Jan every year school will send out a mass invite to parents for update of particulars, u can take the chance to update then instead of clicking “no change”.
