Is the trend now mostly group interview? Or is it because too many applications so to save time, schools decide to just conduct in groups?

You mean, the school would have to base on only the dsa application submitted and database shared by the school , without any interview, and issue co?

If you are talking about applying DSA to any A-level destination bound \"IP\" Secondary school or Junior College, then the answer is \"No\",
if u are applying under the

Academic domain or STEM.
Because

It is
compulsory to through a subject Round 1 test First, if u get short listed.
Then,
from your test results,
can
either proceed to Round 2 interview or get dropped out of Round 1.

If you are talking about applying DSA to \"IB\" schools like SJI or ACSI, not sure.

1 to 1 interview normally applies to those domain
where
during Round 2 when the interview is to be conducted, there are not so many candidates awaiting to be interviewed.

Whereas
for those domain where several short listed candidates are awaiting to be interviewed, iinvolving several interview batches, one batch after another,
then

group interview is usually recommended by the DSA panel of officers.
One example is the \"Maths\" Academic domain.

My DS received a verbal offer from VS last Tuesday for Track & Field. They told us that they will send an official email by end of August.

I think that’s how vs track and field works if it’s still the same teacher …my son was accepted DSA track and field years back than…he was called and official email was sent later on

For VS track, I know there is a sports and interview trial all on the same day… are selected candidates asked to go back again for round 2 of interview?

Years back,I know some sports (vs) didn’t even need to go thru interview if they got medals from NSG just straight CO. Of coz they look at your kids past result slip too…Those who they interview are the ones they 50 50…now…not sure…
