We also didn't know who each other is voting prior.

Say treating is just to have some fun..coz to me my dh really took a lot of efforts just to go to cast that vote 😂

Slmkhoo, your dd was helping full day today? Must be tiring. Not sure if today's weather very hot but whenever I looked out it was cloudy..but humid.
Yes, a full day from 6am till past 8pm. But she didn't have to escort the boxes of ballots to the counting centre. She came home for lunch as she had to vote (downstairs), and the polling station she was posted to is less than 10 mins walk away. But she had to pack a sandwich to eat later - no dinner break. She said there were drinks and snacks provided - including apples, muesli bars and muffins! Not sure who provided them. She was at a CC so the inside had aircon, but they rotated jobs and took turns to be outside. The people at the polling stations in void decks and HDB pavilions had no aircon.

She's declared that no-one should disturb her this morning till she decides to get up!

DH and I were not guessing who will win but who will have the least votes and whether he will get enough to secure his deposit.

DS wanted to stay up to watch but fell asleep. Said it’s interesting to him cos in school they have voting and campaigning speeches etc. so he wants to know how different the process is.

Boggles my mind that the next round of PE (assuming a 12-year term) DS will probably be eligible to vote liao.

Wow must be tiring but she probably enjoyed the out of her daily job tasks too. I saw the people there walking outside asking to ensure they in the correct Q. Just started in the morning should be ok...but continuously esp when so hot not an easy job. Good that they hv rotation. I remembered when young we were tasked to do an odd job for some investment gone wrong. Very interesting coz it is out of our norm job, at different place doing different things can be enjoyable. Maybe in the future when have time and energy can consider volunteering in some odd jobs.

Tiring, but she said it was quite interesting to meet the people also posted there as they all stay in the neighbourhood! She said she had never been in a group where virtually everyone lived in the same small area, and everyone knew what you were talking about when you mentioned local stuff! Not sure \"enjoyed\" is the word, though.

Volunteering or PT work is certainly something to consider when your kids are older. I would be so bored if I didn't have things to do other than housework and cooking.
