DS wanted to stay up to watch but fell asleep. Said it’s interesting to him cos in school they have voting and campaigning speeches etc. so he wants to know how different the process is.
Boggles my mind that the next round of PE (assuming a 12-year term) DS will probably be eligible to vote liao. -

Wow must be tiring but she probably enjoyed the out of her daily job tasks too. I saw the people there walking outside asking to ensure they in the correct Q. Just started in the morning should be ok...but continuously esp when so hot not an easy job. Good that they hv rotation. I remembered when young we were tasked to do an odd job for some investment gone wrong. Very interesting coz it is out of our norm job, at different place doing different things can be enjoyable. Maybe in the future when have time and energy can consider volunteering in some odd jobs.
Yes, a full day from 6am till past 8pm. But she didn't have to escort the boxes of ballots to the counting centre. She came home for lunch as she had to vote (downstairs), and the polling station she was posted to is less than 10 mins walk away. But she had to pack a sandwich to eat later - no dinner break. She said there were drinks and snacks provided - including apples, muesli bars and muffins! Not sure who provided them. She was at a CC so the inside had aircon, but they rotated jobs and took turns to be outside. The people at the polling stations in void decks and HDB pavilions had no aircon.
She's declared that no-one should disturb her this morning till she decides to get up! -

Tiring, but she said it was quite interesting to meet the people also posted there as they all stay in the neighbourhood! She said she had never been in a group where virtually everyone lived in the same small area, and everyone knew what you were talking about when you mentioned local stuff! Not sure \"enjoyed\" is the word, though.

Volunteering or PT work is certainly something to consider when your kids are older. I would be so bored if I didn't have things to do other than housework and cooking. -

Seeing the people working there really perk up my day. I was feeling a little bit down b4 that. That's the bad thing of always staying in a cocoon.

If he’s alr interest at young age, maybe start sensitizing him how & why each candidate uses different media to reach out to voters - posters & ground walk-abouts to reach out & touch the elderlies, those prefer personal touch & personal reach; social media outreach - Instagram, TikTok, Podcasts, WhatsApp, etc and the masses of young voters & tech savvy; pulling in influential figures for support - why they use them, how is it effective and why it fails; is it Eco-frdly, does it gets hijacked & turned into sth ugly; who uses their lives and their consistent past passion & effort, their gentlemanly disposition vs who uses blame & people’s emotions and how they fail in being focus on the subject matter and what kind of tactics were used. Show him what problems each candidates face (all 3 had to face) once they open to run for public role and entire family exposed to public scrutiny.

I’ve learnt a lot myself and my family hv bonded over how each of us spot and discern good moves, honorable behaviour for the dignified role, magnanimous forgiveness & fair recognition of competitors rigorous competing efforts. Also, do highlight the need for recognizing one’s own weaknesses, the critical need to consider not just own ambitions but possible effects might affect or hurt yr own family & loved ones (truthful or malicious under belt tactics used). This helps them navigate their own lives & gives considerations to their parents, relatives, frds, neighbors & the larger community.
Hope my kids learnt fr observing the PE process to inform their thinking & application for their own. -

My ME TIME is when my kids are at school and hubby at work. After doing the chores, I do crochet while watching drama
1) Can anyone share how did you squeeze out ME TIME? :?
2) And what did you do during ME TIME?
other than kids time and couple time and work time and house time. trying to maintain ME TIME is quite tough at times.
When kids sleeping? when all are sleeping? during kids enrichment class time? etc?
It is very impt to have ME TIME. its quiet time to some, its self reflection time for some, its relax time for some. ME TIME allows you to relax and recharge.
Please share. :rahrah:

I was extending my fast at last minute thought of trying 72hrs…but at 32hrs I really cannot resist the pot of tumeric dish that I have cooked and also the nuts that I kept forgetting to eat past few days. Ok I know my limit already…will go easy.
Hang on…after writing I see something. I should have time 2 nights there!
