just inform your child, let him or her know. Sooner or later, they will know because inside their P6 class, during recess, they will ask amongst themselves (fellow classmates), \"so, did u get any CO or Waitlist ? From which school ? \" This type of info, can't hide.
Would you tell your child if received CO from DSA?
Will it affect them from concentrating in PSLE ? Would like to hear parents thoughts.. -
My take is should tell regardless of CO or otherwise. If the child is mature enough to go through process of audition/trials/interviews on their own then they deserve to know the results. Kids these days are not as blur as previous gens.
The exception would be if the child had previously instructed you not to reveal till after psle.
And for context, I did. Both good and bad news. But I also did emphasise regardless of outcome, psle is still top priority. -
Received CO from DHS Volleyball through snail mail today.

the kid was closely involved in identifying target schools to preparing needed applications & collaterals, and monitoring outcome.
did it affect psle concentration = yes, a bit.
but every child is different, and every child is precious. -
I received via snail mail from DHS , on waitlist . π

Agree. They went through everything... no need to withhold the news be it good or bad.

For us, from time of application we already kept talking about adjusting expectations and managing disappointment.
What if don't get any CO? What's next? So what should we continue to do to ensure that even if we lose the DSA game, we won't lose the PSLE game?
So we told him immediately once we could. There was no need to withhold information from him.
Yes there was 1 disappointment but it wasn't his first choice, so it was bruised ego more than disappointment for him.
Anyway, we are still working hard on PSLE together even though he has gotten the CO he wants.
Doing your best consistently all the time is more important, be it safety net is there or not. -

No, just this one. The other one didn't even get an interview. However, this is his first choice. So, we are happy.
