Note
For DSA applicants into Cedar Girls' Secondary school under the domain, \"Social Innovation\" -
1) if you have selected
\"No Preference\" during DSA portal submission, chances are
If the school were to offer you a CO (Confirmed Offer), it will be for the IP track.
The school offered girls CO (Social Innovation) for the O-level track, if the panel of interviewers feel that you may not be able to cope with the IP rigor, based on your past years primary school results uploaded by your General Office Admin staff into the DSA server plus
based on your interview group performance, if you have selected \"No Preference\" during portal submission.
Candidates who have been successfully offered O-level track (Social Innovation) CO, opportunities still arise (abound) at the end of your Sec 2 journey, to seek transfer across into the IP track, starting Sec 3 (IP), if you are still interested in IP, two years later.
2) Thus, for P6 students who are not comfortable with IP track, for whatever reasons, then you should select O-level track (Social Innovation) instead, explicitly.
Because
you will be caught in a dilemma, if you actually favor O-level instead of IP, if the school were to offer you CO (IP) in the end, since you had selected \"No Preference\".
3) DSA applicants who happen to possess Leadership award(s), often tend to be highly favored upon, stand a higher chance of being selected, for this domain called \"Social Innovation\".
4) for those who have entered this Secondary school by the PSLE AL score, not by DSA route, and are interested in this domain, can contact the Teacher-in-charge directly how to join, after you have started Sec 1.

From the school website, SI is not a CCA. So that means other than commitment to SI, the student has to pick a CCA. As for the selection process, as in any non-sports DSA, and depending on demand, they will shortlist students who match their criteria while also looking at the academic results. The academic result cannot be too far off the COP. Eg school COP 8, student's AL is 10 to 12. So criteria first then follow by academic result. As for interview, it could be individual or as a group. There could be task for students to work together or individually.
Hello,
May I check the feedback on Cedar Girls school from parents who have kids in Sec 1 or Sec2.
Is there anyone who has joined via the DSA Social Innovation ? Can I know how was the selection Interview process.
How is it helping the child? Is it also the CCA the child will do under this DSA?
Thanks for all the help.

Hello,
Any parents whose kid has taken Social Innovation (SI) via DSA?
How many hours, do they have to commit for SI every week?
How are your kids enjoying the school and the SI?
Non-sports CCAs are quite limited in the school, and I hear it is bit difficult to get into other CCAs as well ( few options and many students) -
yeah, any 2023 parents chat group available? im very interested to find out more about this school.

Hi…my daughter got AL 9, and she hopes to apply for Cedar. She is good in her presentation skills - both English and Chinese (her mom is Chinese but she is Singaporean). She is quite well-rounded. Do you think I should contact Cedar’s Principal to highlight my daughter’s talent in the hope that he considers her application favorably? Her second choice is Crescent. Thanks, Tony.

Don't think they will entertain, purely base on point -

What's the COP for Cedar? If 1 point fall short, maybe can try?
