Starting this thread early to discuss about entry to medicine to both NUS and NTU, especially when NTU is no longer using BMAT for their admissions.

Please take note that registration and booking for UCAT is STILL OPEN, until 21 September 2023, 12pm! 😄

UCAT has posted their 2023 preliminary test scores! It'll be a good indication to see how your ds/dd fares against global scores.

          From UCAT:
\"The following data is valid up to the 15 September 2023 based on 20,334 tests taken.

We are anticipating that a further 16,000 candidates will take the test; as a result the following scores should be treated with significant caution. Candidates should use these figures as a rough guide to judge their own performance as these numbers will change as the testing cycle progresses. As an example, the 2022 preliminary mean score was 2554 and the final mean score was 2500.\"

Speaking from experience coming from NUS Med: have batchmates and juniors who didn't hit the AAA/A requirements but still got in through Aptitude-Based Admissions Scheme (ABAS)

For those keen to take med, they cannot apply for EASE right?

Can some peeps also share about the candidates who had done IB and got through medicine?
                  Thanks!

EASE as in “Early Admissions & Scholarships Exercise”?

I vaguely remember that EASE application exclude courses like law, medicine and dentistry as these courses require separate admission tests and interviews.

Does EASE have any condition stating that one is not allowed to change his/her mind after acceptance? Otherwise, I do not see why one cannot apply to EASE for other courses to serve as a backup.

As far as I know, For NUS MedSchool, if you are on the reserved list, their email to you has the following para “You are advised to carefully consider any offer you receive from NUS and see if it is something which is aligned with your tertiary education goals. This is to ensure that you secure a place in a degree programme come August 202x, should no slot be available in the Medicine intake. Your acceptance of an admission offer from another degree programme will not affect your position in the Medicine reserve list.

                    Hope this helps 😄

Heard NTU has started inviting applicants for their interviews. :rahrah:

Anyone knows if NUS medicine has started? No news so far.
