2023 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2011)
-
My boy said McQs 3 questions, there are 2 options which both seem correct… Tricky, have to pick the correct one.
Booklet B is ok he said. -
For my son, he said that the booklet B is alright and MCQ was tricky. He is a GEP child so please dont worry about the paper so much. He was also scared he would not get AL1 for PSLE although he got AL1 for his prelims. When he discussed his answers with me and his friends, it seemed like he got one or 2 questions incorrect. Overall he felt that it was a difficult paper compared to past year psle papers. Let’s just forget about it and let our children enjoy their freedom until Sec 1 starts. He said the candle in the paper lamp question was 3, paper is a poor conductor of heat.
-
For the lantern question, there is a metal wire. My boy said the answer is metal is a good conductor of heat… So not sure here whats the actual question. He is also a AL1 student for Science…
-
So the lantern question which is the correct answer?
Paper is a poor conductor of heat OR Metal is a good conductor of heat? -
My boy said the question ask why the paper will catch fire, that’s why the answer is metal is a good heat conductor for the lantern question. But I’m not so sure what he said is correct as he always can’t remember the question clearly after exam.
-
Why metal? Since the metal is further from the flame compared to paper….so confusing
-
My boy also selected Paper is a poor conductor of heat. But I did not quite get the question.🤔
-
I think answer is paper is a poor conductor of heat. As the paper can’t conduct heat away quickly so it will absorb and burn?
-
Looking at the discussions above, tried to use AI for an answer and the result is
A paper lantern with metal coil holding candle, got into fire. This experiment shows
Choose the below answer
1) paper is a poor conductor of heat
2) metal is a good conductor of heat
The answer is 2, metal is a good conductor of heat.
The paper lantern caught fire because the metal coil holding the candle transferred the heat from the flame to the paper. Paper is a poor conductor of heat, so it does not burn easily. However, the metal coil is a good conductor of heat, so it quickly transferred the heat from the flame to the paper, causing it to catch fire.
This experiment shows that metals are good conductors of heat, while paper is a poor conductor of heat. This is important to know for safety reasons, as it can help to prevent fires. For example, it is important to use a metal pot holder when handling hot pots and pans, as this will prevent the heat from being transferred to your hands. It is also important to keep flammable materials away from heat sources, such as candles and stoves. -
Anyone knows the answer for the elastic spring question in mcq? Is it upward slope or downwards?
