Anyone has information on what activities do DSA STEM students do in years 1-years 4? (SEC/ o level stream) My dd got accepted for MGS DSA STEM. Thanks in advance.
How come during the interview itself -

when the interviewer asked your daughter, \"Do u have any question, for us ?\",

there and then on the spot, your own daughter should have clarified with the interviewer directly herself,

      \"May I know,
what are the DSA commitment(s) during the next 4 years, for successful DSA applicants, in STEM domain ? \"

The interview conducted, is always a 2 way process. Meaning that,
your daughter can also ask the interviewer questions too, if she is in doubt. Asking questions, seeking clarification to clear doubts, is also a good way to indicate to the interviewers that u are very interested in STEM, hence u bother to make the effort or seize the chance (opportunity) there & then, to clarify. Interview is Not just one way, only

In reality, with the interviewers having long list of interviewees back-to-back, sometimes they don’t even ask if you have any questions to ask them due to time constraints of having to clear the interviews, performance tasks n tests for all candidates on the same day. She didn’t manage to ask any questions. according to her, there wasn’t an opportunity to do so but she did ask questions for the other 2 DSA schools. Even then, her questions were limited to 1 for 1 school and 2 for the other school. We did call to ask if there will be briefing or more details but were told to write in to MGS. Wrote but waiting for reply so just wondering if past DSA stem students’ parents can share some details.

Also now wondering if she should take up O level vs IP (A levels) as she received DSA for IP for another school and still waiting for last school’s reply. It’s a hard choice to make so wanted to have as much information as possible though still have almost 2 months to decide. While yes, should relax as thankfully given options before PSLE but also afraid might make the wrong choice

          In that case,

since u mentiond had already written the email to MGS Secondary school to inquire,
          then
          tomorrow Monday morning -

Just call up the school directly and request to speak to that unique, particular DSA officer, in charge of STEM domain (MGS).

          1) Tell GO (General Office) Admin that this is a follow up phone call, because u have already sent in your email.

          2) If the Admin GO officer said the Officer in charge of STEM is busy, cannot take your phone call right now,

          then

Just leave behind your handphone number, convey the message to GO Admin -

to request this STEM Officer in charge to return u a call. And when this Officer call u back, ask all those " burning " questions that u have, concerning STEM domain (MGS).

After gathered the answer, if the other IP-A-level Sec school also offer your daughter a CO, no need to make decision now. Wait until her psle exam over by first week of October, then sit down with her and discussed :- she prefer the IB track (MGS) or she prefer A level track ?
If not sure, can google the advantages of IB vs. A-Level.

However, if this STEM CO is for IB track, it is great, go for it!

If this MGS CO for STEM is for O level, not for IB, and if the other IP offer is for A-Level, then u ask her :-

          3) does she want to take O level ?
If don’t want, prefer to skip O level, then just accept the IP A level JC (CO).

Unless u have the intention to bring her overseas to study in UK / USA / Australia, after her O level, for some bridging programme overseas, before she start her university faculty course / programme. Some people do this, bec they can cut short their university programme, by one year. That means, graduate earlier, from uni.

A question for parents of upper sec girls: What E Maths and A Maths text books does MGS ‘O’ level track use? Can you give me the titles? Thanks!

My husband has been asked to help someone who has done badly in Sec 3 E & A Maths. So he needs to see what is in the current syllabus!
