Maybe more parents/students are now more aware of viable alternatives like IB, the strengths of an IB education and the benefits of doing IB here !!!
Saw on SJI website, 2024 sec 1 COPs are AL7 for IB and AL9 for O.
Next year boys with 7 points will have a headache to choose between Hwa Chong or SJI IB cos I am sure both schools will ballot around AL7 (or AL7M for HCI) first choice. -

Wow, quite far off from my predicted 21. Well done to the brave 25 who applied!
On CGS website,
COP of PG3 is AL11, COP PG2 is AL25 -
I wonder what the PG2 COP for TKGS is then? Is that the only other school commencing PG2 intake in 2024?

Hearsay HCI COP is 7D but not verified.

Seem like boys performance is strong this year. -

Not only because of IB, but I also feel that this year's PSLE questions are easier, resulting in a decrease of 1 or 2 points in the COP for almost every school:

- HCI has changed from 7M to 7D
- Chung Cheng(main) and Nan Hua have both changed to 10M, which was 11 last year
- Anglican High has also changed from 14P to 12M

TKSS also. I think these are the only 3 (“plain vanilla”) govt schools which had only express stream before.

If many top tier sec schools’ COP improve (AL8 to AL7, AL7M to AL7D…) and assuming vacancies/intake is around the same as last year’s, does that mean that more students did well this year as compared to last year?

TKGS PG2 is also 25.

TKGS PG3 is 13.
I called because I really wanted to know, as there isnt any COP thread this year.
The website has 2024 sec 1 form teachers, and as I counted, there will be only 7 sec 1 classes in 2024.
Is 7 classes the norm? I thought there will be about 8 or 9 classes. -
HCI COP was 7D for 2021 PSLE batch. Only dropped to 7M last year.
Not indicative enough to conclude that all COPs have improved. Last year COPs increased for a number of express schools, likely due to lowest cohort size (Tiger year) compared to 2021 batch.
Also could be different DSA intake size in different years. -

I also wonder if CGS COP at AL11 means same number of express classes or not. and if same, it means there will be more resources to take in PG2?

In FSBB, form class size can be of 38 pupils but subject class size may be smaller. Hard to say also
