      :thankyou:

      Would there be a suggested timetable for the students to view the recordings or they are expected to map out their own individual timetable? As long as students can do their tutorials in time for class consultation?
      Read that students in another JC are supposed to view some lectures at designated rooms together. Not too sure of the details tho.
      They are expected to listen to/ watch the recorded lectures at their own convenience. Not every student has the same timetable. Eg a BCME in class A and a BCMA in the same class A, and BCME in class B and a PCME in class C will be using the same M lecture but all 4 students have different timetable so I wont think it makes sense to group the students in designated classrooms (at specific designated timing) to watch the lectures together. For this jc that does it (which jc is this?), maybe they want to make sure everyone attends the lectures. Then they might as well just make the teacher stand in front and mark attendance.

        So now the timetable is more simplified without lectures. That is a reduction of coordination and planning work. So any reduction in fees?...haha... in future schools do not need so many lecture halls anymore....haha
        Seem like at least the top students in top JCs are expected to be adults now at 16+ or 17yo.

        Just to check are all students still require to report to school at same reporting time as pre covid time? except for HBL days. At least students are able to group with classmates to do lectures together if they can. Wonder if our sec students are trained in planning their own timetable and mentality to prep them for this new age learning environment in JC?

        Why I am asking this is because I foresee some students, may not be able to adjust in time. H/eard of students viewing lectures after midnight or on the bus or train, amidst their other commitments eg CCA, leadership or service activities etc and suffering in their studies now. yes, may not be applicable to all students, esp those more driven and matured ones.

        Was told that IB schools do not have lectures, and lessons are all classroom based. This could be something that set them apart from other JCs.

          I am not sure it is more simplified, there are so many more subjects nowadays (80 standard subject combinations, not including the 3 MT). I think the timetabling is done by computer so it doesnt matter if it is easier or harder to plan, since it is not done manually. And as I mentioned, some subjects have in-person lectures, so they would still need to build lecture theatres. Hopefully they dont charge you more for doing subjects that need lecture halls.

          Were they reporting to school at the same time pre-covid?
          I am not sure if they are supposed to report to school at the same time now, or according to their timetable.

          If they want to study together, they will manage it themselves. There are many opportunities to do that if they want to โ€” they can study together during breaks, or they can study together on weekends, etc . So definitely if they want to study (together), they can. If they dont want to study, you can put them together in the room and they will do other things.

          If you go to class and dont know your work, and it is not ok with you, you will adjust, and adjust quickly.
          If you go to class and dont know your work, and it is fine with you, you will not adjust no matter how much time you are given to adapt, whether or not you are grouped together to listen to a teacher in front of you in the lecture hall or grouped together to listen to a recorded lecture :siam:

          I think you worry too much ๐Ÿ˜„

            For physical lectures, teachers teaching different stream or classes must match venues availability. Somone have to do the coordinating, using communication tools and computer. Unless you are saying the more flexible subjects combi is as a result of pre recorded format of lectures. I thought the combinations are also available pre covid time.

            These queries are not directing at EJC in case there is any misunderstanding. Happened that only this thread responded.

            I am pretty sure I am not the only one having reservations and would worry. Know of one from top jc failing. Not my own tho. My kid only in sec.

              wef next year 2024 batch of Junior College (1) students entering into Eunoia JC, born in year 2007 :-

              MOE is implementing the brand new \"maximum 70\" A-level score points system. No more under 90 points, anymore.

              =================

              Question
              =======

              How is your 2023 O-level (Higher Chinese) score achieved (sat for, in November 2023),

              being mapped to (or converted into) the new A-level H1 score ?

              Answer
              =======

              Regarding (concerning) O level Higher MT grade,
              they are as follows:

              =================

              HMTL - A MTL - Rank points

              A1/A2 = H1 MT โ€œAโ€ = 10 rp

              B3 = H1 MT B = 8.75rp

              B4 = C = 7.5rp

              C5 = D = 6.25rp

              C6 = E = 5rp

              D7 = S = 2.5rp

              E8/F9 = U = 0

              Please note that

              the MTL rank points will be added and rebased to the new 70 rank points, if it helps to increase your overall score.

              =================

                      Hi

                      I hope parents or current students can help me with my enquiries. Thanks in advance!

                      1.What is the min no of H2 subjects to take at EJC - 3 H2 subjects or 4 H2 subjects?

                      2. Is there flexibility to choose what subjects we want to take for subject combination ? Or is it based on a fixed subject combination to choose fr?

                      3. Are most students come from the 3 affiliated schools? Abit concerned whether my child will have difficulty making friends as most will have formed their own click from secondary schools.

                        I think min is still 3H2.
                        See the 2024-2025 subject combination
                        https://www.eunoiajc.moe.edu.sg/files/EJC_SCOPE_2024.pdf

                        Page 2, 4th paragraph in the link says that you can propose your own preferred subject combination

                        3. Are most students come from the 3 affiliated schools?
                        I think you mean to ask if most students are from the 3 IP schools. If you have followed their official instagram, they were running the ask-me-anything the past few days and one of the questions was โ€œhow big is the JAE cohortโ€. The answer given was โ€œ300+ are from JAEโ€, about 45%. But the 55% are not from one school so they also wont know each other.
