Some still in good conditions. I tried to buy preloved mixer but too bad still doesn't work after I sent for repair. The seller not aware I feel coz buy, used few times then in store room kind. When I feed back to her..I think she returned me the money so I lost repair fee and transport fee to svs ctr..but I get few pieces of stainless steel bowls.
One of my daughters has bought some clothes on Carousell, and so have I! And she's influenced me to always look on Carousell first, before buying new items, especially kitchen and household stuff (unless they are the <$5 things I need urgently). My other daughter, before she found a permanent job, sold stuff that my mother decided to discard but were still good - she's too busy to do much now, but we still list a few things now and then. It's not for the money, as we tend to price things low to clear, but at least we know that they will still be used. -

yes, some just dislike taking some 2nd or 3rd hand items.
I used to like to pass down kitchen appliances to a family member. Those that I don't use much but over time I started to feel that the receiver may not be happy as that's not what they want tho that's what we like. Sometimes I do secretly feel 'happy' if I were to accidentally broke /chip the lid of an appliance then I dont feel so guilty to discard. Eg the pressure cooker, can still be used as I was using it for some time while getting my new pressure cooker. Clothes I don't feel comfortable of giving (except to my mom) coz somehow feel have our own 'dna' esp those that we have wore for a longer time. Books ok to give. Heavy items, those charitable organisations may think I want to save transportation for disposal. That's how I feel when I tried to change my sofa and dryer haha. -

One resolution for this year is to reduce hoarding of food..for me.
yes, slmkhoo
we encourage other to do similarly; throw may be the easiest but if items are still gd and functional, they can be given away or sell cheaply.
I know it can be quite a hassle to meet up to give or sell items, we just try our best to save the environment.
Talking about hoarding, I like to stock up food etc. -
Come CNY, I will spend quite a bit buying dried mushrooms, dried scallops etc. I need space for them

I haven’t buy for cny. I will try to buy not too much. But promo is difficult to resist leh.

Me loh.
yes, some just dislike taking some 2nd or 3rd hand items.
The youngsters are into thrifting and supposed vintage stuff. So in Jpn we added visiting 2nd hand or thrift stores into our itinerary. At the end of the day I still cannot bring myself to get any of those 2nd hand stuff even though the prices were very attractive and the items are still in good condition.
Likewise, I will not pass items to people without first asking them if they have any need or want them. I hate it when people pass used items or unwanted items, even if they are brand new, to us when I did not ask for them. Basically they are passing their problem of having to clear those items out to me. In my eyes, they are not being generous or kind, they are being inconsiderate.
Most of the items that I need to clear out are sent to charity or passed to people who tell me that they want what I am letting go. I don't list on carousell or such cos I don't have the time nor patience to entertain questions, etc. Both DS and DD tried and also find that it's a hassle and irritating when people try to haggle or negotiate on pick up time and place.
