Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been asked before, I had browsed the forum for this information but did not get a definite answer to my question.
Wondering if any parent is able to share their sons' experience with the Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools ESIS test (for Sec 3)? My son is to attend the test coming up in a couple of weeks time, but we are all not sure if any preparation is needed, or is it a IQ type paper that doesn't need preparation, or will it cover topics in Y1-2? What is the format, type of questions covered, difficulty level, etc, and the chances of getting the ESIS (i.e. is it top 50% of the ESIS test takers, based on Y1-2 results, etc?).
Any insights into this will be greatly appreciated!
From the grapevine, I was told it is like HAST instead of school exam. Difficulty level is really subjective. If you ask those who were successfully awarded, the questions were easy. Whereas those who didn't get it said they were hard. Logical, isn't it? So I prefer to take others' feedback on the difficulty with a pinch of salt or it may affect child's mental readiness.
Whether to prepare or not - it depends if you can narrow down to resources needed for HAST for 15 year old.
School will tell you no need to prepare but some will still prepare. -

The grade boundaries for all subjects seem to be raised compared to past 3 years. Based on the above article, \"there is a marked increase in performance over the period of 2020-2022, reflecting the more generous marking schemes employed to account for the disruption experienced over the pandemic.\" This year 2023, the marking schemes have reverted to pre-Covid levels.

Hi, can anyone please share whether ACSI is normally one of the schools which are used as venues for the GCE O-Level written examinations?
I note the following from MOE's website:
\"The last day of the final school term for schools which will be used as venues for the GCE O-Level written examinations, will be Friday, 25 October 2024.\"
Just would like to know whether the last day of the final school term this year is 25 October 2024 or 15 November 2024.

Out of Total 441 candidates,
what's the percentage or roughly,
1) how many students are from IB, entered ACSI since Secondary 1, after their PSLE ?
And
2) how many are JAE students, entered ACSI after their O-level in Year 5 ?
