Thanks for all the replies! Another question I have, are DSA Applicants still required to do CCA or their area of discipline will be their CCa?

Depends on which talent area. For sports and performing arts, definitely must commit to that CCA (for 4 years minimum).

For other talent areas like Leadership, sometimes no particular cca restriction. Depends on school.

Will the child be still streamed to G3, G2, G1 upon receiving CO from the school?

E.g. If my child got AL15.

COP for G3 of school X is 14
COP of G3 from school Y is 16.

If my child got CO from both schools, should I choose school X or school Y?
If I choose school X, will they void my child’s CO if he got AL15/AL16? Or will he be pushed to G2 stream instead?
In that case, will it be safer to choose school Y for G3 stream?

Do the schools actually select DSA students for G3 streams only?

Ow my head is spinning. Let me try to answer as clearly as I can:

            1. For DSA, child does not need to score 14 or 16 or whatever the current COP is. If u want to go in by COP then use PSLE route, not DSA route.

            2. If child gets CO from both schools, pick the one the child prefers.

            3. For DSA, CO will entitle the child to enter as long as psle score meets the minimum AL22.

All the other worries/issues are non-issues.

I could be wrong but I thought if CO is given to a child with eg. AL23 in PSLE, he or she will go G2 or the level eligible.
Depends on the level the kid is eligible based on score in PSLE.
AL21 or below is eligible for G3
AL2x or better is eligible for G2, cop of G2 for that sch
AL2y or better is eligible for G1, cop of G1 for that sch

If the CO is from a school with only G3 track (including IP schools), then if the child’s eventual psle score is:
-better than AL22: welcome to CO school
-worse than AL22: CO is void; choose another school via S1 posting

If the CO is from a school with G2 and G1 tracks, then if the child’s eventual psle score is:
-AL23 to AL25: welcome to G2 track in CO school
-AL26 to AL30: welcome to G1 track in CO school

Her child is expecting ~AL15, so i did not mention G1 or G2 cos unnecessary.

Anything less than or equal to AL 20 -

                  go ... G3

In other words, if a FSBB sch gives CO to a kid, it meant he will get into the sch as long as he met the COP of G1 track once he accepted the CO.
Whether which track he eventually be in, then depends on his actual PSLE total AL score meeting the school COP of each track.

                    Assuming his \"AL15\" is arbitrary.
