There is the TRUST Credit Card, which I’m holding & im retired.

The young in my family uses TRUST Debit Card. DS has just finished schooling & not enlisted as yet. He’s doing some Part-Time stuff. I don’t think that’ll hv any impact. He got his TRUST Debit Card before his PT.
That's weird. My sister's trust card was cancelled by the Trust administrators without her knowing which left her hanging dry at Fairprice. When she called, she was told the card was cancelled because she retired. We have no idea how Trust knew about her retirement, as her bills have always been paid on time.

Maybe @Esteema was a super earner in her hay days so they respect her account. 😂

Anyway, I have no interest in getting a Trust card. I used to have like 10+ credit cards but I've been cancelling them and consolidating into my single DBS card, so I've only got one now. Cash is still king, and I pay with cash wherever possible to remove any digital trail I may leave on the transaction.

I better change it to Simply Go then. Think need deduct $3 for new card for transfer balance.
        I *HATE* SimplyGo.

        1. They simply don't display the amount of money on the card at MRT gantries, and I have to refer to the app all the time :skeptical:
        2. The card cannot be used on FlashPay terminals, eg. at Burger King and I had to use my FlashPay card instead.

Now LTA is saying everyone needs to use SimplyGo by June this year! Its ridiculous...

Chief, they hv this credit bureau or something. Dh has6 some issues before..Only reason I can think of is owing certain bank CC annual fee coz we have many cc last time right due to freebies etc..then never keep track, never ask for waiver so got blacklisted. Other than that, we couldn't think of anything else.

              Ditto for me too.

Given the current digital environment, will not want to have needless app(s) on my phone. The info available in the app is useless for me. And really no value-add to refer to the app for the basic information of balance purely for top-up purpose. The existing process of flashing balance at the gantries is straight-through and not broken.

Simply Go actually creates more inconvenience for me.

Exactly, if no problem, why need to change. Forcing everyone to change like that... Huh
We were pleasantly surprised when we tap our oyster card from more than 10years ago and still worked when we return to London in June last yr.

Better talk here. Abt letting 17yo make final decision etc. I don’t know about other/majority of the kids. My two at home I m already experiencing their pressure of breaking free.

Hi mks, if they know what they want, and it is not detrimental for them, can let them try it out. No need to worry so much. My own experience, mother controlled so tightly until I rebelled in quite a bad way. Not a good outcome.

True zac's mom. I think so too. Already now I am feeling it quite intense. The only (good) thing is I feel the love is still there so they will still try to respect/care for my feelings. I noticed dd1 listen to dh quite alot as of now. Maybe dh gives alot of freedom to think and to do. I can 'retire' liao...maybe it is time for me to try enjoy my own freedom.
