      May I know what’s the minimum grade to be attained in JC1 to offer H3 in JC2 ?[/quote]
      There is no minimum grade,

      because

      at the end of JC (1) first year,
      the Top 10 percent of the entire cohort,

      will be invited to join H3 subject

        Does anyone know how big is a J1 cohort in NYJC? Calculating JAE chances 😝
        close to 700 students,
        INCLUDING students coming in from the affliated, co-ed Chung Cheng High Secondary schools.

        The Cut off point, for admission into Science stream (NYJC) is ...

        L1R5 nett, 5 points.

        ========================

        Just JC (1) FIRST year subject combination \"BCME\" alone,
        already got around 10 classes, based on 2023 JC (1) batch, born in year 2006.

        \" PCME\" subject combination :
        got another 10 over classes, too.
        H2 Physics is more popular, because often, boys prefer taking H2 (Physics over Bio), since H2 Chem is compulsory, for Science stream students inside Nanyang Junior College.

        ===========================

        Out of just one JC (1) first year batch of co-ed JAE students coming in, after their O-level :-

        already,
        more than 600+ students are taking .... H2 Chemistry subject, out of Total close to 700 students JC (1) cohort.

            Dear All

            2024 JC1
            JAE batch of students in Nanyang Junior College (born in 2007),

            For the (PCME + BCME) Science stream subject combination,

            1) in the first half of the year from February until June, inside Trimester 1,

            the lecture content are delivered "live" inside the LT.

            The lecturer will stand on the stage in front while students are seated inside the LT, physically.

            If u don’t understand certain things taught by the lecturer, at the end after the lecture has ended, u may walk down the steps to the front, and clarify your doubts on the spot directly there & then, with the lecturer.

            ======================

            As you are all JAE students coming in from several Secondary schools all over Singapore, just admitted into Nanyang Junior College afresh on 2 February , the lecturers will hand hold you for a while to help you warm up, go up the learning curve, be familiarised with the school teaching environment first,
            before slowly, let go.

            2) However, in the second half of the year, inside Trimester 2, from July to November,

            the lectures are pre-recorded (online). You can fast forward to that particular section when you are not clear, and play back to hear, again.

            3) Throughout the whole year,
            from February until Oct / November,

            all tutorial(s) and Practical slots are conducted in-person.

            PCME : H2 (Physics, Chem, Maths, Econs)

            BCME : H2 (Bio, Chem, Maths, Econs)

            LT : lecture theatre

                      However, this is too sudden, for those JAE students who have entered by Arts stream with 6 points, nett.

                      Perhaps, next year (2025) then implement this loop hole. To be fair. Because the P just announced today, first day of orientation. These Arts students do not have time, to react.

                      Otherwise, you will see an exodus of 2024 batch of Arts stream students appealing out of NYJC last minute, trying desperate to seek appeal into some other JCs (for Science stream). The Appeal window is still on, until early next week, by a certain date line.

                      Anyway, nett 6 points Is still a very good score. Hard to get 6 points, nett.

                        Not exactly removal/elimination. Other schools require students to enter by Science COPs if they were to take Hybrid subject combination.

                        A step in the right direction, nevertheless.
