Call the schools’ general office. Pretty sure they are open by 8am.

It is really depressing to see that a student who scores all distinctions (A2 x 6 = 12) and 2 CCA bonus points (-2 = 10) would just barely be able to enter a non-IP JC.

And that to enter an IP JC via JAE would require one to aim for all A1s. Just how many of our generation would be able to do that? COP for the top 5 JCs never used to be so stringent during our time?

The O level kids these days must be under such pressure :gloomy:

During our time, there was no CCA bonus points, so in some ways, I think the COPs are across board and on average, being lowered by 2 points.

Secondly, the option to read Higher Mother Tongue to get 2 additional points off, has been expanded to many more O level students, compared to our time. There was a period where only SAP school students could read Higher MT.

once you missed out doing O-level (Higher Chinese), you are at a disadvantage,

                        unless

you happen to be in one of those Secondary schools that are affliated to Anglo Chinese Junior College, where your affliation discounted points can still help you.

                        Example

say, on average u score B3

Actually, B3 is a decent grade.
After all, B3 marks range from "65 to 69"

But with a B3 for 6 subjects, u end up with Raw 18, say minus away 2 points for Cca, but because never do Higher Chinese (O-level), u end up with …
                        nett 16 points.

                        Where can u go ?

cannot even go to Jurong Pioneer JC (JPJC), whose Cut off is nett 14 (for Science stream). No choice, left with only one JC to go to … Yishun Innova JC (YIJC).
