Just to share. my dd scored > AL10 for her p5 and p6 mid year.
Most of the kids I know who applied thru DSA got into IP if they are usually single digit scorer.. if they are not single digit scorer in p5 or P6.. they will be offered O track instead.
During our DSA application last year we selected \"no pref\" as we were fine with OLP and ultimately she was offered CO for IP track.
My view is while the results do matter, they look at things in totality and how much the school wants you.
For IP offering (especially dual track schools), the most important component is the interview process. If your child can impress upon the school during the interview with your thinking process, there's a high chance. -

It varies year to year and they look at the total pool of DSA talents required (ie. the outgoing S4s).
Hello.. anybody knows how many vacancies does St Nicks Leadership DSA usually have? Both IP and G3 track. Thank you!
Leadership is one of the most competitive domains with no shortage of applicants.
Just a word of advice to all considering DSA. It is very important that your child feels comfortable in when it comes to the domain(s) which they are applying for, especially for Sports and PA because the commitment is no joke. -

the JSA cop has no bearing for DSA. Successful applications or those who have their WL converted only need to meet the bare minimum AL20-22 criteria.
Thanks Zac’s mum.
One clarification on the COP. Say a particular school’s 2024’s IP is 4-7D but if a kid’s PSLE score ends up to be 9M, will the school still accept addmission if they have secured a CO place during DSA? -

this should be a WL conversion. ie. PSLE result day will reflect whether your WL has been converted into CO, assuming you have met the min AL20-22 criteria.
I recall my DD's DSA was confirmed on the day of PSLE results itself. How can any decision be made before that?? -

I see... so which means its up to the school's discretion how many leadership dsa they will need for that incoming sec 1 batch?

Sports typically has 8 vacancies, 4 IP and 4 G3, can i say for Leadership there;s no specific guideline? -

Convenient to share what was your DD's end of P5 results and if she's being offered St Nicks IP or another school? -

From what I've gathered, there's no fixed slots for ALL domains pre DSA season. I know particularly in 1 year, there was a niche domain offered by 1 dual track school where there were 20 applicants / trialists and surprisingly not a single applicant was offered CO. But for leadership, I'm pretty sure the school will take in a few as the leadership DSA students are versatile and not limited to a specific CCA unlike the sports/pa domains.

Thank you! So when people mention the P5 results, they are referring to overall results (WA+SA AL) instead of just SA2 AL right?
Secondary schools VP / Ps of course will look at the entire, whole year results ! Often, the year end SA2 results bear heavier weight
Why ?
People look at \"Consistency\" !
Thanks!
