My girl said quite OK. Nothing intimidating.
But she can't say exceptionally well or not at all though.
She doesn't know good or bad.

Don't be too intimidated by hearing of others who thought they did well.
May I inquire about your experiences with the FSA? Mine felt rather intimidating, to be honest. It seemed to either go exceptionally well or not at all, leaving me a bit concerned now, haha
Some of our high achiever candidate's critic themselves too much and act pessimistic as they have high expectations. Your child could be one of those.
My DD thought it was ok - not too exceptional as well.
We can now just wait. -

My DD did say the PS station was intense and the interviewers knew things inside out on what you wrote and did challenge some of her views. She felt an immense relief once she was done with all the interviews - that's what she could tell in the end. The med interviews are emotionally draining.
It's a station to test your thoughts and viewpoints. -

For my girl's MMI, there were more boys.
There were 2 circuits with 9 candidates and only 2 girls each in both circuits.
Btw, I noticed your DD is 2004 born. Did she take gap year?
And yes, indeed DD took a gap year. But this is her first year of applications and interviews with both NTU and NUS. -

DD went for interview on Monday, said she's not sure how to feel about the performance.

My son is currently in his second year at NUS Medicine. I didn’t feel the need to micromanage his application process, so I took a hands-off approach. He took charge of his application. Instead of focusing on the selection, we discussed alternative paths and how he could contribute to society in different ways if his application didn’t succeed. (We did the same with our other son who was subsequently accepted by to Law school.)
I understand that the selection panel values a genuine commitment to serving others. A robust background in extracurricular activities, particularly those involving leadership, and a consistent record of volunteer work, especially if self-initiated, can greatly enhance an applicant’s chances. In my son’s case, he has been active in Scouts since primary 3, achieving the President Scout award in JC2. We also volunteered as a family at a nursing home since my boys were in Pr Sch, exposing them to hands-on experience in relating to patients and their caregivers. He also volunteered in various healthcare organizations, including one at the Neuroscience Institute. I believe these experiences, coupled with the opportunities provided by his schools, have equipped him well for his journey.
Navigating the Uni application process can be a tense time for both parents and kids. My suggestion is to refrain from adding unnecessary pressure on the children. Instead, allow them the freedom to reflect and strategize on how they wish to portray themselves during this critical phase. Encouraging them to reflect on their strengths, passions, and aspirations can empower them to present their best selves authentically.
By providing support and encouragement, we can equip our children with the confidence and resilience they need. Wishing you and your family all the best during this time! -

My DD went for NUS interview on Monday as well. Maybe they saw each other?
Infact she was super impressed with all candidates she met on the day of interview, each one came from great JC and with super impressive portfolio. They were very friendly and professional, and collaborated for team-based discussion. So, if you DD/DS spoke to mine on 8th April, I commend them sincerely for keeping the positivity going.
She felt that NUS session had a healthy mix of boys and girls compared to NTU interview session where there were more girls. Maybe it was just her session. I didn't hear anyone commenting on this aspect before.
DD was flustered with the many stations and one-on-one interview sessions, but overall felt relief that it ended. Her worst was the activity-based task station which she thinks she failed - so you can guess how she feels. She dares not recollect the overall day itself 😅
We cannot second guess their outcome. As some of the applicants who thought they did bad in the past did get through and some who thought they did well - did not. How the interviewers score and judge the applicants is a big mystery to me.
Let's just continue to keep our DD/DS positive and healthy. They have done their best to prepare and have given the best performance they could.
