Thanks again Zac's mum. Any others have experience in NJC and RI DSA art? Would there be any disadvantage of my opportunities in NJC and SJI DSA art if I also apply RI DSA art? Would NJC and/or SJI consider that we are not sincere about the application as RI is also in the DSA art list? Thanks!
For SJI Visual Art DSA, after MOE portal closes, school will send follow-up email to all the applicants (regardless of grades), to request submission of portfolio:
1) Folder A: 10 artworks showing observational strengths (applicant may submit artworks achieving realism and details of varying mediums such as 2D pencil drawings or digital illustration, 3D sculptures, etc)
2) Folder B: 5-10 artworks showing creativity and imagination (applicant may submit artworks that show original ideas developed in varying mediums such as short animations, 2D storyboards, etc)
After they evaluate the portfolio, they will invite their selected ones for a drawing test. Not sure whether got interview or not.[/quote] -

Has anyone sent their kids to one of those DSA interview prep classes? If so, do you think it is useful or a total waste of money? any particular DSA interview prep class to recommend?

I attended the talk at SJI this past weekend. The principal mentioned that it is very common for parents to apply to VS, RI, ACSI, HCI in addition to SJI. He did not say they would not give a CO to students who also applied to one of these other schools but asked for parents to be considerate and call SJI to let them know ASAP if they decided to take up the CO from RI/VS/ACSI/HCI. He explained that getting a CO means your child will be guaranteed a place at the school and parents do not need to fear this place will be given to someone else (unless your child scores 23 points or higher). He has a long waitlist every year and if parents can call to let them know their DS are going to RI/HCI/ACSI/VS, then they can give the CO to someone else on the waitlist sooner.

Ohh great.. this is new to me, I always thought the secondary schools you applied to can also see what are the other 2 choices the student have put in!
No, they cannot see. But during interview, they will ask the pupil (candidate) -
1)
Which other schools did u apply for DSA, and in which domain, apart from us?
2) if they are really very keen on you, towards the end of the interview, they will ask you this question -
suppose all 3 schools which u applied for, all offered you a CO each. May we know, which first choice school's CO, will you accept ?
They want to know, to what degree, are u interested in them, serious about them.
Note
In some schools, they will only pose u this qn, if they are really interested in taking u in.
Thanks for that! -

This is a reply from another school in the top 4 ranking to my enquiry on DSA students with high AL point coping with their curriculum.
In considering the school choice for your <child> it is important to consider whether the school is a good fit and whether your <child> will grow and develop well in that school.
If your <child> is given a confirmed offer via DSA, the minimum AL he has to attain is an AL of less or equal to 22.
We do have some cases where DSA students with high AL find it a challenge to cope in <school>
So my advise is to consider and to talk to your <child> about this matter.
Thank you.

Hi,
Seeking some advice please…
Based on the dsa template, it says: "Your child’s primary school information will be automatically shared with the DSA-Sec school(s) that you applied to. This includes your child’s P5 and P6 academic results, and other information from P4 to P6, i.e., Co-curricular Activities, Values in Action involvement, School-based achievements/awards such as Edusave Awards, National School Games and Junior Sports Academy participation will be automatically shared with the DSA-Sec school(s) you applied to. You do not need to input this information."
Q1: Will the Edusave awards shared include EAGLES & ECHA awards too?
Q2: Do we need to include awards received from school at the year-end Annual Speech & Prize-Giving day?
Q3: If only P4-P6 info will be shared, should we add on awards received from P1-P3? E.g.
Thank you very much! -
Any one has any input on social innovation with cedar girls ? My kid is doing mid to high 10s overall , has done some external activities. Want to understand her chances and how the screening process has been

Hi, needed advise here, between SCGS and RV, which is a better school? If comparing EJC and RV A level result, seems like SCGS better. But I might be wrong.
