Hi all. I just realised something. We put in application for SST (just completed written test) and (pending request for personal statement - submission 8 July).

SST just emailed to give us next steps / timelines and I note that the dates they have allocated for shortlisted candidates to move to stage 2 falls on 3 Aug and 17 Aug (only attend one date). NYGH will be conducting interviews for shortlisted candidate on these 2 dates as well!

Question: has anyone encountered the situation where they get allocated SAME date for both schools? Are we able to request for a change?

Yes, there were clashes in previous years and I heard parents have asked the schools for alternate dates. So you have to ask the schools and see if which one can offer an alternative date.

Yes, many people have encountered clashing of same day DSA test, before. If u read past years DSA thread, this is so common.

Between NYGH and SST, SST is more accommodative.

Just call up SST, explain that you have a clash on the same day with another DSA school.

If u are short listed,
trials will start in end of June or July onwards , when Term 3 open.
Nearer (closer) the time, u will be informed, in due time. That's provided : you are short listed.

Now is still June school holiday.
Not yet. Enjoy the balance of your remaining June holiday, meanwhile.
Why ?

Because

some school Teachers / VPs / Principal(s) involved in DSA selection or

those Sports DSA coaches

or

DSA interview panel of officers in charge

may be overseas during this June school holidays season,

spending personal bonding time with their own families.

So, all these DSA trials will have to wait, until Term 3 (Semester 2) open.

NUS High email notifications are out on 21 June (cf test date on 29 June), in batches (!) starting from 6:30pm++
