hi luanee , thanks a lot for the feedback, we wanted to get a place near the school , now I worry if moe will allocate a premises that is too far off, guess we can only wait ξHi LeeTaiTai, regarding school's temporary location, KSP has posted a link earlier, which is the only official info we got so far from the school ...

Pre-school wise, my girl attended Kinderland. We also sent her to \"I can read\" when she was in K2 to ensure she can read before she starts P1.
thanks for your preschool feedback , I am struggling on the preschool as there are just so many choices in the market , so knowing how to read is the most basic requirement before hitting P1 ? Every preschool I ask will claim they will prepare kids for P1 , same for zoophonics . But being a phonics -focus school , I was afraid they will de-empasize other subjects and they are very classroom driven ie barely any outdoor activities which they agree except for some occasional trips . Guess no school can provide perfect curriculum , I am just over-worried I make the wrong choice ! -
hi all,
My P1 girl will be starting her swimming lesson next week for an 8-weeks' duration with the school.
For those of you who had gone through the experience, can you help to share on the following:
1. Does your girl change into their swimming costume only before the swimming lesson?
2. Understand that they have to wear PE attire over the swimming costume, so does most of you buy those 2-piece swimming costume instead of the typical 1-piece type?
3. After their swimming lesson, they just have to wear the PE attire, no need to wear the pinafore over the PE attire again right?
4. Personally I find it quite a hassle loh...why don't just let the girl wear PE attire to school, change into swimming costume before the lesson but no need to wear PE attire over it while on the bus to pool? I don't think a lot will be wearing those bikini type right? and some more they are just kids??
5. They will just leave their school bag & school shoe at the school & bring swimming bag & wear slipper to the pool?
Any other experience to share will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

1. Depends on which slot is ur girl's swimming lesson. If first slot then she will wear the swimming costume inside, with the PE attire outside to school. If second slot then she will change later.hi all,

2. No, mine is a one-piece suit.
3. Right, no need pinafore.
4. Haha.. guess the school doesnt want students to be clad in swimming suits all over the place?
5. Yap, plus their snacks and water bottles too. -

Guess I am super kan-cheong...went to buy 2-piece suit over the weekend liao....
Mine is at 3.30-5.20pm. Don't know if i let her wear PE attire over the 2-piece suit will be it be hot....shall monitor first.
I volunteer myself to help out during the swimming class so see how it goes 1st

I bought the 2 piece too. The reason is easier for my dd when she goes toilet.
-
DD1 wore a bikini the first term  then this year, she was pai seh, so she's wearing a one piece.
If the gal is okay with removing and putting the swimsuit back on without problems, one piece is not so warm! JMHO!

My girl wears 1-piece suit during her weekend weekly swimming class.
ksp - Same as you, I also have concern over going to the toilet for wearing 1-piece suit. Especially so since I am not sure if they are given the chance to change into swimming wear before their siwmming lesson. If not then need to wear it under the PE atttire to school, then how to go toilet if wearing 1-piece suit under the PE attire?
Andaiz - does it mean there is swimming lesson at both P1 and P2?
Thanks

I got dd a 2 piece swim suit just for her schoolβs swimming lessons. She wears a thermal suit for her weekend lessons as it is pretty early in the morning and the water tend to be cold.
According to DD, her teacher told them to get 2 pc suits and to wear it under their PE attire even though their PE is not the first period. Reason being that there may not be enough time for them to change into their suits. So I guess a 2 pc will be more convenient and less hot. -

My girl used to wear one piece under her Tshirt (the kind with the zipper) in P1 but found it very lnconvenient when she has to go to the toilet as that would mean taking out T shirt shorts and peeling down her costume half way. Its also kind of cold when she gets out of the water. In P2 I changed her costume to simple 2 piece and she found it more comfortable n convenient moving around. Theres normally not much time to change before swimming classes especially if its after assembly. The teacher will need to gather the girls fast, do a headcount and board the bus. After swimming there is also limited time to change so the girls are told to rinse, not much time to shower unless shes fast. I know one mother that will leave her maid there to help bathe her child. It will be good if yr grls swimming lesson is at the end of the day... then she can get home and hv a good bath.My girl wears 1-piece suit during her weekend weekly swimming class.

I normally make hot milo in a themos for her to bring to the pool. This will warm her up after the swim, most are hungry after lessons.
The swimming lessons will go on for 3 three yrs. Dnt worry, the kids do enjoy their swimming lessons. -
