Apply for PV at Kuo Chuan first. In your application, indicate that you are willing to move <1km for better balloting chance. Bear in mind 2B u will be competing with Presbyterian church members. Heard that Kuo Chuan is a good holistic school & has safety net affiliation all the way till JC if u happen to need it.
Alternatively, if u don’t mind your son starting P1 in afternoon session (some don’t mind kids waking up later, provided u have caregiver at home to settle the logistics), I think Maris Stella will be easy to get in due to their temporary moving (note your registration address should be <1km of the Mt Vernon site, and then caregiver just bring kid take mrt down. Girl can enter with sibling priority in 2029.
Hi,

Re: All About Church/Clan/Society Membership
Hi everyone,
Could someone clarify if both parents need to be baptized and members of the Methodist church to get an endorsement for Phase 2B, or is it sufficient for just one parent to meet this requirement?
Unfortunately, my spouse and I practice different religions (please no judgement).
Additionally, does my child need to be baptized to receive a Phase 2B letter from the church? We had agreed to let our child choose their religion in the future.
Hope to hear back soon. Thanks!
@ChiefKiasu hi did your kids go to naval base primary school? Any feedback on it? How important is CCA in primary school or is academic quality more important? Thank you!
It has been a positive experience serving as a parent volunteer at Wellington Primary School for the past year. The school is highly systematized and well organized under the guidance provided by the school’s principal (who previously served as Principal of Admiralty Primary School).
After school hours, teachers stay back to tutor and guide their students, especially those from low-income families. As part of the school’s efforts to prepare P5 and P6 students for the PSLE, the school collaborates with Raffles Institute students on revision and techniques for addressing PSLE questions. Lastly, the Parent Support Group (PSG) at Wellington Primary School is supportive and proactive, volunteering to help with school-related events and activities.
Hi, anyone has experience of successful transfer to MGS in P3? My daughter is a competitive swimmer, doing decent about top 12 in her age group and we are deliberating transfering her from rgps to MGS. I wonder if anyone knows what can give her a better chance for the transfer - recommendation letters or address etc?
Hi all,
I am a bit confused by the ballot results for 2023 ACSJ results. For 2B, does it mean there is no chance of balloting even for 1-2km?
How about 2C, it indicated >2km. Does it mean all the 1-2km doesnt require ballot?
I am staying 1-2km of ACSJ now thus i am torn if i should go through all the effort to shift nearer to within 1km or i can stay with current 1-2km?
The PSLE English Oral Exam might seem daunting, but with a bit of preparation, you can ace it! Here’s a roadmap to success:
Master the Two Parts:The exam consists of two sections: Reading Aloud and Stimulus-Based Conversation.
Reading Aloud: Practice reading aloud clearly and expressively. Vary your pace and tone to demonstrate comprehension. Underline tricky words beforehand and sound them out confidently.
Stimulus-Based Conversation: This is your chance to shine! Use the given picture or topic to spark ideas.
Think PEEP:
Point: Briefly describe the main points you see in the picture or topic.
Explain: Elaborate on your points using specific details and interesting vocabulary.
Evaluate: Share your opinions and feelings about the topic. Why is it important?
Project: Conclude by suggesting solutions or making predictions for the future.
Bonus Tips:
Practice Makes Perfect: Rehearse reading aloud and discuss various topics with family or friends.
Stay Calm: Take deep breaths and speak clearly. It’s okay to take a short pause to gather your thoughts.
Be Enthusiastic: Show your interest in the topic and use expressive language.

Technically, so long as you move within the successful balloting area of 1km, you can move any number of times within the 2 years, so long as you hv proof of residence in those addresses, but it must be your family. Your family be ready to be questioned & hv a reasonable answer.
If found to be untruthful, the consequences can be dire, resulting in yr being expelled & parents hv to face punishment. More imptly, the child cld be marred by the incidence.

7 new MOE kindergartens inside primary schools to open in 2023
- the 7 new kindergartens are MOE Kindergarten @ Yishun, MOE Kindergarten @ Alexandra, MOE Kindergarten @ Bendemeer, MOE Kindergarten @ Fengshan, MOE Kindergarten @ Temasek, MOE Kindergarten @ Princess Elizabeth and MOE Kindergarten @ Shuqun
- these kids will be eligible for Phase 2A2 for the 7 schools in 2024 registration exercise
- there are some very interesting names (Alexandra, Fengshan, Princess Elizabeth, Shuqun, Temasek !!!) and given what we have seen from MK schools this year, there will be serious repercussions for Phase 2B and Phase 2C
- parents may want to strategize carefully and may have to make some hard decisions if they are aiming for these schools (p/s: Phase 2A2 comes before 2B - ie before GRL, PV)

I am puzzled by Alexandra & Princess Elizabeth. Are they co-located with the perennially oversubscribed 2C schools Alexandra Primary & Princess Elizabeth Primary? Won’t the priority for MK at 2A2 result in even worse odds for 2C?
I had the impression that MOE would usually add MK only to those undersubscribed Primary schools. -

The five schools that I’ve highlighted are hot schools in the later phase; all ballot for SC under 1km. The possibility of introducing up to 120 applicants in Phase 2A2, that’s definitely going to shake things up. That said, if one is aiming these schools, there’s now an opportunity to leapfrogging most people, including GRL / PV, if you manage to get into one of the EYC or MK.

I’m surprised too - I also thought the point of MK was to redistribute some of the P1 preferences. Though maybe that doesn’t work - Blangah Rise and First Toa Payoh, for e.g., don’t seem to be any more popular as a result.

briefly read through the registration and balloting process for MK (another balloting monster in the making). somehow parents may need to ballot for MK then again in 2A2 for some schools, Temasek, PEPS, Shuqun. And ALPS will restrict alot of the 2C folks.

PEPS already have to ballot for 2A2 and now they add MK into the mix  don't understand why MOE is doing this... This is simply moving the competition forward from P1 to K1

I passed by PEPS recently. There are a lot of relatively new flats next to the school, must be a lot of young families living there. It’s gonna be crazy, maybe causing a situation like MK all full, childcare centres all full with long waiting lists, just like Punggol & Sengkang kindergartens for the Dragon year babies.

Yes there are many new BTOs there since about 2-3 years ago, together with the reduction in number of places from 270 to 210, that's when the oversubscription rate for PEPS started to shoot up.

In the past the balloting odds wasn't so bad - at least something that I'd consider balloting - but now.... Haiz -
Hi! My DS will be in 2025 P1 intake!
