Hi there,
what does your neighbour mean by ethic ratio? i’m considering CCKPS too, wld like to know more. I prefer a balanced mix of ethnic grp, so my son will learn to live with all races…it’s the way of life in SG isn’t it. -

yes, me too & since we live in a multi-racial country, i dun mind a good mix too. pls dun slam me if this is racist (i dun intend this comment to be cos i also have my own fair mix of other races' friends), but i understand from her that chinese is a minority there.Hi there,

hehehe dun worry I’m not slamming you cos I’m like you trying to find out more abt the sch but not much info available.
ic…hmmm…I’m not a Chinese but I wld prefer to send my child to one where there is not many of my own race cos I want him to mix & get to know other race & culture.
rgd CCKPS, there is not much info in the website on their academic achievements compared to their CCA achievements. -
Hi, My child now is CCKPS P1, err... as for little homework, I personally find that my child got lotsa of homework compare with my friend's kids in other school. Perhaps different teachers got different expectation.
As for ethnic ratio, I will said its balanced mix.. A class of 30, 18 Chinese, 7 Malays, 3 Tamils, 2 Others, and perhaps not all the class has the same ratio.
Hope the above helps

Chipndale,
U r most welcomed. BTW, if really that bad as in no homework, perhaps u could prepare past year's worksheets or assessment books for your child.
U will find that TIME is not enough if u r a Full time working parent.

thanks worry_mum for the info.
I agree with you on the homework part. Nowadays, parents tend to send kids for extra enrichment like Kumon etc. So, if lesser homework wld also means the child is not overstretched.
Do you know how is the academic achievements eg in terms of PSLE passes? Can’t seems to find this info in the website. -
Hi Oneheart,
Ya, they do not have this info in their web. However, u may call them up to check on this. As for me, due to distance, I have no choice but to select this school. However, to me, i find no regrets till now
Also, personal advise, if ur child is Chinese, do let them learn HYPY first before getting into P1, as the 1st term is all in HYPY, and after 1st term, they will be separate into different class base on their class test result.
The form teacher usually is the only teacher incharge for Eng and maths, PE and music.... -
thanks worry_mum for the info.
For my nearest sch is SVPS. But considering how hot the sch is, I’m also looking for alternatives. Next nearest is CCKPS and then Teck Whye. -
