I recently found out that I’m pregnant and have been reading about medical abortion. I’m feeling quite overwhelmed and would like to hear from anyone who has been through it. What was the process like, and how did you feel during and after? Did you experience any side effects or complications? Pls let me know…

A few months ago, I had a medical abortion early in my pregnancy under Dr Jen Shek Wei’s care. The first few hours were the hardest—I experienced heavy bleeding, strong cramps, and back pain. Thankfully, things became much more manageable after the first day. Dr Jen explained what to expect beforehand and followed up afterward to make sure I was healing normally, which gave me a lot of reassurance.

Looking back, my biggest piece of advice is to give yourself permission to rest and recover. Having a supportive doctor, a warm heating pad, and pain relief ready before taking the medication made a huge difference for me. Healing takes time, so be kind to yourself, listen to your body, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your healthcare team whenever you need guidance or reassurance. 😊🤍
