With A-Levels approaching, one question we often hear from parents is:

“My child is already in JC2 and still struggling with GP. Is it too late to improve?”

The good news? Not necessarily. But at this stage, simply writing more essays may not be enough.

      If your child is still:

      Struggling to develop arguments
Unsure how to use examples effectively
      Repeating the same essay mistakes
Having difficulty answering the question directly
Struggling with Paper 2 despite having decent English

It may be worth identifying what exactly is holding them back before A Levels

At Excellence Tuition Academy (ETA), we work with JC students on these areas through structured GP writing practice, detailed feedback and our XL05 strategy, helping students understand not just what to write, but how to think through a question.

For JC2 students, the goal isn’t to suddenly learn everything from scratch — it’s about identifying the gaps and making every remaining month count.

Parents of JC2 students: What is your child’s biggest struggle with GP right now?
Would love to hear your experiences below!
